Endless Realms player race height chart
Player race artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
The final race height chart, with all nine core player races for Endless Realms. From left to right:
The Al'Miren, the eldest race, created by the goddess of order and chaos in their image.
The Dengu, an industrious race particularly passionate about treasure hunting.
The humans, defined by their extraordinary versatility and variability.
The Kalamir, forbidden spawn of angels and demons exiled to the mortal plane.
The Sileans, a tough, proud matriarchal people.
The Skidi, a bold, charismatic race full of mischief.
The Ulvar Kyr, rugged honour-bound warriors from the highest snowy peaks.
The Ventelli, a solitary, predatory race known for their grace and cunning.
The Yakshi, an exotic but benevolent race of sentient plants.

Ah, okay :) Glad to know - I know a few people particularly dislike the bunny-people, so knowing that there are some people who like them especially more is nice :)
((I wasn't sure, because you said "You like them, BUT" which would suggest you were going to mention something you didn't like. You also emphasized "DO" which seemed unnecessary in context, so I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be "don't" instead. So yeah, you didn't say anything wrong :) Just sounded like maybe you meant to say the opposite and just had typos.))

Some really nice selections here. Ulvar Kyr have to win out for me. Only really noticable lack is a dragony/more reptillian race without many/any humanlike features. I think im biased there too but overall a great list and some unique ones that break the common mold is certainly a well above average lineup.
*nods* Yeah, unfortunately we felt we had enough "furry" races as it is, and the Sileans were intended to feel fairly approachable to non-furries despite their lizardlike traits. I'd love to see a big scaley race in an advanced/auxiliary race book, though, too! In the meantime, I believe the dev team's making it fairly easy to use monsters as PCs, so maybe you could roll one of these guys in the meantime! Thank you kindly for your feedback, it's appreciated :)
((Quoting another comment in response to the same question)) Yeah, they were removed because we ran into... briefly put, design issues.
The cat people were redundant as a race - the developers wanted a more or less neko-race (human but with ears and tail), but we already have the bunny-girl race, which is essentially neko, plus they received critique that the design they wanted (they were extremely specific about it http://sta.sh/0prpa7e421h) was really, really generic in appearance. Because at least one of the developers was really set on having cat-people, I suggested them let me modify the race into a more unique one. I had originally wanted to create something more Khajiit/Farghul-like, something that would please cat-lovers, wasn't a neko, and also hope to work in something to make them stand out as unique, but they wanted a neko, or nothing, plus they felt we had too many "furry" races as it was, so they made the decision to remove them completely and replace them with something non-furry, and something filling a niche we didn't already have done (which was something demonoid).
They may show up again in later books, with additional player races and things like that, but we won't be having cat people as one of the core player races.

I'm having some problems with this image https://www.furaffinity.net/view/15603655/
my client keep complain it doesn't looks right i need some help please. Light my path oh Jocarra TT

Well, is the client able to explain what they don't like about it? Or what they feel looks off?
Do you happen to have a version with a sketch layer turned on? It may help me better see what's going on, but I suspect it has something to do with the pose, and perhaps the current lack of grounding - the character is just sort of floating there, and looking at it you know they're supposed to be laying on something or something similar, but without anything anchoring the character it's making the brain a bit confused looking at it.
Looking at it, it reminds me of the problems I had with http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15358517/ - something about the lounging position reminds me of what you're trying to do. She needs to look relaxed and comfortable and natural, but that can be hard to pull off. My suggestion would be to maybe try a few alternate sketches in slightly different positions and see if the client likes any of those more, and/or look up some reference photos of similar poses, study those, and see if you can figure out how to make your own figure have that same relaxed comfy feel.

It can, of course, depend on the desired style the client prefers, but I'd say the forehead is too high - it's a human-like "tall"-shaped skull, but on an animal. I'd perhaps suggesting rounding out the cheeks more (particularly the one closest to the viewer, the more visible one on the left) so they curve outward more, rather than simply curve upward like a human jaw, and lowering the forehead/top of the skull.
Here are some references I pulled off Google Images that might help :)

A world map would be AWESOME.
We have plenty of monsters, and while they are really cool, I'd like to see something that says more about the world of Endless Realms itself, what it's like to live there, and what playing the game would be like.
A world map would fit that description perfectly, so I highly suggest it.
Also, when do you estimate we'll be able to buy and play Endless Realms? I'm really looking forward to it!

*nods* They just want me to focus on other things first because they have their own stuff they need to work on!
The game was only started a little over half a year ago, and the development team is, frankly, very small - I'm the only artist, and my husband the only writer (and he's only able to work in his spare time, as he's working on his PhD). The combat system is more or less built, and some work has been done on classes and abilities, but almost everything else is entirely incomplete.
As for art, I have two entire books' worth of art to do! Not only all the monsters for a bestiary, but the remaining images for races, all images for classes, equipment, and other required illustrations (such as cover illustrations, maps, etc.)
It'll probably be another year or two at least.

Kalamir have to be my favorite of the bunch. Or the Yakshi. They just seem like they'd be really fun to roleplay as.
I can't wait to see the final product. I'm a big fan of tabletop RPG's (DnD, Pathfinder, Cthulhutech...) and even when I can't actually play the games, I adore reading the fluff. So seeing something like this makes me go "SQUEE!" with great joy. AWESOME work.
Now that I think of it, I'm guessing the angels and demons will be in the bestiary, but not actually playable races, correct?

lol, yes, that was our intention :) Unfortunately, we did have to stick to the humanoid-bipedal form, so armours and weapons and other equipment would work across all the races. Otherwise would have liked to have maybe some quadrupedal races, or winged races, or "taur"-like races, or some other neat design.
Yeah, I pushed hard for the inhuman thing. When the dev team tells me "We want our races to be really different, not just "human, tall human, short human, green human"," I tried to make sure we ended up with not just "different shaped humans" and "animal humans" and "humans with weird bits stuck on." There's only so much I can do, again, for the above reason, but I tried XD
We are eventually, but not quite yet! They've been holding playtests but only with small sets of people, so we don't really need more yet.

Depending on who you ask, the Ulvar Kyr are feline :b
Other people say they're wolves.
Other people say they're CLEARLY bears, and not felines or canines at all.
Other people say they actually look more like yeti.
*shrugs* :V
But yes, there was originally going to be a feline race, but they were decided as being unnecessary/redundant, unfortunately, and cut from the core races. I'm sure one will make it into any additional Advanced Race Guides or the like, though!

They mostly look like wolves here because of their ears, I think - however, they as a culture often voluntarily chop them off, which gives them much more of a bear or badger look. I feel like the elongated fangs give them a fairly decent smilodon-esque look, personally :3
What race did you pick?
What race did you pick?
*nods* I don't like min-maxing much, so a part of me wants to play a race that also appeals to be aesthetically and/or that I find otherwise interesting, but another part of me would sort of be annoyed to, say, pick a race that gives my Wizard +2 Str/+2 Dex and pick a fun flavour trait that gives him +4 to Acrobatics when everyone else has min-maxed the ideal player class/race combo and subsequently all have completely optimized stats and builds.
I'm one of those players that can have a great deal of fun with a broken, gimped character (I recently rolled a character with 16/14/12/8/5/5 and I thought it was hilarious and fun, but everyone else was like OMFG I would kill off that character so quick so I could roll a new one if I were you), but if everyone else is neurotically min-maxy it sort of makes me feel like I "have" to, too.

Here i can relate, for me its not about the best stats, its having fun with the character i create. So my character ends up as either the party clown or twisted and insane but its all in good fun.... not saying that i dont look at some stats for advantages to my character role though. I dont think its about good stats anyway, its all about having a good mindset and throw some luck in there and hope you dont roll a 1 at a critical moment :P
*nods* Agreed :)
That's actually the hardest part of a DM's job. His job is to facilitate the players' fun, basically, but sometimes every player has a different idea of that. For some, it's an engaging storyline with complex story arcs, for others it's filled with interpersonal drama and political intrigue and romance, for others it's only about killing epic monsters and having the most awesome loot and highest stats.

This is all the art I've done for the ER player races so far: http://jocarra.deviantart.com/galle.....R-Player-Races
We haven't done female Dengu, female Skidi, or female Ulvar Kyr, and we haven't done a male Kalamir. However, male and female Dengu/Skidi look fairly alike, and the male Kalamir differ from the female in basically the same way humans do. The Ulvar are very dimorphic - the males are all very top-heavy, focused on upper body strength, whereas the females are much longer-limbed, focused on lower body strength. I'll be doing a female Ulvar caster for the next class illustration, but that won't be until some time next year.

Ah okay then! I love all of their designs! I might make a male Ulvar Kyr for now I just love them ^^
I see that they cut off their tails and clip their ears though. How long are their tails? I would like to have mine
keep his. I always love to make my fan OC's different somehow so I was just Curious.

I'm sorry for all the questions ^^; this should be the last one lol
What color palette are they limited to? I see that they are mountainous
And snowy biomed creatures so does their color directly reflect that?
Would it change with seasons like their real life companions? * wolves*
I know you are the artist for the creators and your knowledge is
limited so no worries if you do not know the answers. I can always
make something up ^_^

No problem! The Ulvar are mostly "tundra predator" coloured - mostly wolf-like patterns, but I think if someone wanted to make a lynx or snow-leopard-patterned one or white-tiger-like one, that'd make perfect sense, too :) They mostly live in the snowy mountains, so yeah, they tend to have mottled white/grey pelts in the winter, and darker ones in the summer probably :) Even people's hair sorta changes in with the seasons!
Oh sweet! I was planning on making mine like Brown with lighter Earth tones and white
markings. Then in the Winter the Brown will turn a light shade of slate Grayish Blue with white :D
Thank you for the info! You are seriously awesome! I can't wait to see more art from you ^__^

What always irked me about D&D was the lack of non-human playable races. If you wanted to be non-human in D&D, tough. Half-Orcs were about as non-human as it got, and even they were very human looking. Modern media shows very few games breaking that trend, so I have to appreciate this game. If it ever becomes available at my local card shop, I'll buy it. :)
