Its been a hell of a week! I just got my amps back from the shop and I was just itching to do a recording with this new Fender Vibro Champ XD that I bought a couple of weeks ago. The real thing I was excited about however, is that my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R also came back from the shop...with a prognosis that nothing was ever wrong with it. This was a pretty special piece of gear to me because it was the first expensive thing I bought for myself after getting a job after the recession. I thought I had fried this thing by going up to the studio one night drunk and plugging in the wrong power adaptor. Like, I had actually tested it and determined it was fucked. It put a HUGE dent in my motivation to work on recordings and in general. So, after years and years, I plug this thing in to find it magically working again! WTF? But, I'll take it :)
Anyway, this new amp is pretty cool. It's a tube amp with built in modern digital effects and modeling capabilities. This is the built in tremolo effect with that amp modeling an early Fender Tweed amp. The Electric guitar I am using is my fixed up Kay Strat ( https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.780682932042321.1073741932.278653315578621&type=3 )
The acoustic guitar being used here is a vintage 1977 Ibanez Concord that I just finished fixing up to sell. I put about 9 hours into it and I am really proud of the way it came out, and I feel like there is real piece of me in it. So, I wanted to do a recording with this guitar before it sold. I pretty much brought it back from the dead!
So yeah! Two guitars and a digital audio interface all got brought back from the dead to do this recording! Enjoy! :)
Lyrics:
Sunrise doesn't last all morning
A cloudburst doesn't last all day
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning
It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
Sunset doesn't last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this, my love is up and must be leaving
It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So, I must be on my way
And face another day
Now the darkness only stays the night-time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
All things must pass away

Thank you :)
I definitely agree. I Really like George's song writing. I feel he is tapping into something in a lot of his songs that is on a different level in spirituality and self awareness than John or Paul. I definitely get the sense that he saw the band breaking up when he was writing this and perhaps it was indeed meant as a eulogy of sorts.
I really want to do some stuff off Sgt. Peppers. I have been slowly working on an acoustic guitar version of "Day in the Life" for a while now.

Now that's way cool. That has always been an old favorite. I think that one and Yellow Submarine truly shows a true flavor of those times. I also feel that John and Paul sold out. Paul to pop music and money and John to Yoko Ono and his political beliefs. I still like Ringo and alwasy saw him more as just a regular person. How cool is it that he was the Station Master on Thomas The Tank Engine.
