Rambling around as a giant dog is amazing,
but it's double the fun with a good pal.
A cool ocean breeze ruffled our fur,
a troupe of hungry gulls squawked overhead,
and the gentle Pacific Ocean rolled on under our paws.
However, at that moment, we were oblivious
to our glorious surroundings. Even the giggles of
incoming ice-cream-toting children failed to
get our attention.
We were lost in conversation. I don't remember what was so important
at the time, but you know how it is chatting with
someone like-minded; pure wag inducing fun.
We were finally coaxed out of our bark-fest by the young lady on
the right. She HAD to have a picture with the dawgs, and we
were more than happy to oblige.
We posed. He snapped. She smiled. We exfoliated.
We exchanged thank yous, hugged everything that might need
hugging, and continued on our jaunt.
We made it about two feet before she ran up behind us, grabbed
my arm, and gave me another hug.
"You guys look so happy. I can tell that you're both having the best
day, and that makes everyone around here smile. Just wanted
to say thank you for the great example."
I had certainly never been called "a great example", and I was touched.
We wagged off to our next encounter, resuming our topic and
giving the happy paws to everyone we met.
Except the gulls. We don't give the happy paws to aerial poopers.
The nice lady's words stuck with me, and I finally realized what she meant.
I'm certainly no great example, and as a beer drinking furry oven mitt
I've been lucky beyond reason.
What's important is how you treat others, and especially how you treat
friends. I'm lucky to have such great companions, and this
day will always stand out to me as one of the best due to
the presence of a certain GSD.
Thank you
teh for being the best part of my pack.

You're a better example than you give yourself credit for. But your humbleness is part of that, too. I truly appreciate these glimpses of your life because they give me a chance to momentarily forget the standard strife of what the rest of the world bombards us with. You make people smile - and that's the best example of what we should all be doing. Love ya, Dogbomb! :3
Sounds amazing! You make people happy and they make you happy in return, which is great. I don't mean to be intrusive but I have a few questions.
Are you smiling the entire time you're in suit?
What was you best/most memorable experience while suiting in public?
Have you ever gotten any negative reactions?

Yes, I'm grinning like an idiot under the fur.
I make a special attempt to smile for pictures...
I've had so many that it's hard to pick one.
One that stands out was chatting with a 101 year old lady who
just wanted to hold my paw and listen to my dumb stories.
She said I reminded her of a dog that she had when she was young,
and she was the most gracious, fun loving soul I've ever met.
Every now and then you get a negative comment, but it's fairly rare.
I try to be respectful of everyone's opinion, and if a talking dog
is not their thing then so be it.

Thank you for the reply, Dogbomb!
That's awesome! I bet when you put the suit on you instinctively smile.
Aww... Gotta love old people. Heh. Their reactions are always priceless. And it's kinda strange, actually. Little kids and old people are almost exactly the same when it comes to imagination. Young adults and middle aged people -well, most of them, at least - tend to repress their imagination. Social standards and all...
Who doesn't like talking dogs? Ha-ha! But yeah, to each their own, I guess.

Your stories always give me such high hopes. I've gone out and done a bit of public suiting before and received the worst kind of backlash (cops were called, I was heartbroken yadda yadda) but honestly, being reminded of the smiles that you can bring to people by doing this... it makes me want to get back out there and spread some more smiles around. After all, that was one of the big reasons I ever got into suiting. I love making people smile. <3 Thank you for your continued inspiration. I just have to learn more to let that bad things roll off my shoulder like raindrops and just do what I love. After all, it harms no one.
My hometown is very small and full of, for lack of better term, red-neck types that are incredibly closed minded. So I guess it's not surprising that it happened. I did make some kids very happy for a short while that day, so I just think about that and at least know I brought some joy to those kids for a short while...before their parents probably filled their head with all their hate filled opinions.
I actually made the cop laugh too. I lived right down the road from the park and they happened to figure out where we were. He was very amused to have found the five foot tall purple cat.
I think the thing that upsets me the most is we had a handler with us and they started going after her saying she was weird because she WASN'T in a suit. I mean... what even? She's telling you that we're out just to make people smile and I make these suits as a hobby and that's not enough? BAH. Some people.
I'm still happy I got to make some kids happy for a little while at least. Though even now I'm still very uncomfortable going out in public in suit. Maybe in a bigger group it wouldn't be so bad. Wow. Sorry for the long reply. Thank you very much. Keep on inspiring and spreading the joy!!

What a wonderful picture and story! I haven't had time to read it properly now, but I sure will later!
At first I thought this was you in one of your fursuits and someone else in your other Dogbomb fursuit. Nice to read that wasn't the case (if I read correctly). It drives me a little nuts when people share fursuits, because you never know if you're actually seeing who you should be, or who you think you are seeing.
And I look forward to having similar fursuiting adventures myself. My fursuit is almost done!
