UPDATE
Thanks to the site admins, this is no longer true!
Probably you haven't noticed that, but recently EVERY flash on FA became forcibly resized to 600px by 400px.
That means all my Flash files are now smaller than they should be, and most of them has significant blank bars on their sides.
Probably no big deal for most of you, but it annoys me >.>
It has something to do with a bug with flash file dimensions detection.
Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Relly? Coz I don't think if it depends on the browser. Check this out http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1761286 <-- it should be 480x640 with no black bars.
A bit of a waste to post it here, but asking the artist at upload-time what size the flash should be should allow appropriate sizes to be used (for example, if it's too large, using the "optimal" dimensions, it should be relatively easy to calculate an exact, appropriate sizedown without black borders). I never really "got" the idea of flashes having a certain resolution to begin with (much less being able to read it!), since flash is scalable to any size. Surely there's an optimal resolution (the resolution it was meant to be viewed at), but not a set resolution, like an image. So ask the artist what the resolution is - Then fall back to 600x400 if it's not entered.
I sure hope they fix it soon...All my flash animations now have this WHITE...not black ...WHITE border around them.
This is hard on the eyes to concentrate on what’s showing and can distract like some of the Vore animations, they need dark for the effect to work.
Now they have a white boarder making it poor to see Q-Q

To be honest, I like this. Think of it like watching TV.
Besides, for people with small (or who chooses small) screen sizes, it's kinda sensible to use a small resolution (excluding those new laptops that are EXTREMELY tiny).
The flashes also run faster at this size (for the most part) unless it is an extremely HUGE file.
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/use/circlea61/
Look at some of the most recent animations - the original size was larger than my 1440x900 screen size, when viewed in firefox. Now it can actually be seen a lot easier.

OK, you got the point if someone puts his flash in that big resolution.
But I want to control the size of my submissions. If I put the 300x600 flash, it'll now be 200x400 with two huge 200px wide blank bars - one on each side. Not to mention that lots of details will be lost, especially if the flash was vertically oriented.
