Had fun with this. This is my first serious attempt at a background based on the room and characters from the third movie. I also tried to match the style of the original animation and add some minor distortion to make it look like it came off an old VHS (I also uploaded an unfiltered version here here. Also, I think this is the original cartoon's reaction to my artwork.
I'm playing around in my head on if I want to continue this into a growth series or leave this as a single image. I've got a few other images to do first before making that decision.

Question time! While working on this I was talking with
draco-rex on the image and references, and felt old when he said he hadn't seen the original movie. So I'd love to know if you've seen the movie.

No, I haven't seen the Puff the Magic Dragon moovie. But it's not like I haven't seen any moovies from before I was born. The Flight of Dragons is from 1982 apparently, and I first watched it in, like, 2006.
Wow, Terry must've had the biggest imagination yet! Hahahahaha!
Thanks for drawing this, man, you brought out the best (and funniest) in one of my most favorite childhood characters of all time! Instant fave!
Edit: Oh, and yes, I have seen the Puff the Magic Dragon movie, all three of them, even! I still have the DVD with all three of them in total, plus a few bonus features.

Well, I think I've got all the VHS tapes I had as a kid somewhere in storage.
Y'know, just between you and me, I was thinking of what we could do to give the trilogy a revival in the form of a regular animated series, and possibly pitch it to Netflix. Wanna know how I'd go about it? We can take this conversation over in the notes.
