Coop feels abandoned by Andy since the speech he gave landed him a job. This has brought Dogboss closer and, either through fantasy-jealousy or actual knowledge, he imagines/sees Andy and Dogboss getting it on (thus the "cycle being broken" part).
Their mutual ribbing was their own, if unhealthy, way of staying "together" (which is likely the word that Cooper couldn't finish the sentence with in the previous page). But it took Andy to basically be swept away by someone else for Cooper to really start admitting to himself the feelings he's had for his friend, and see his desires and/or relationship for/with Andy for what it is.
However, someone probably just walked in, for Cooper to stop thinking essentially mid-sentence, and make a comment about Fate.
Either it's Dogboss, who's coming to be with Andy or it's someone from Cooper's past. That will more than likely be shown in the next page, however.

This is the last page of Summers Gone. the someone walking in is Andy, this is a sort of prequel page to the last page of Vol 1/Second page of Vol 2 from Coopers point of view

lets face facts about Cooper. He's faced a pretty messed up life, all we've seen of his dad was he was abusive to him, was a drug taker, a slob, so we can guess cooper never for the parental love from him everyone else has. That pretty much tainted coopers outlook on life, but believe deep down, he wants to be loved, he just doesn't know how to normalize those kind of emotions.
Damn, my eyes nearly burned from the tears that were about well up. This is awesome, itms basically the other sixe of the Internship, where we see how Cooper’s life began with the one person he messed with, yet reluctantly loved the most. Throughout the story, I got to witness why Coop does all of these things. Andy has always liked Cooper even if he has to put up with his bullshit. Ans that in turn really made Cooper LOVE Andy. The problem was, like many other people, Cooper was ashamed of his homosexuality, he tried to push Andy away as much as he could to stop from admitting that. But when life started to get to hard for him, he needed someone to help carry his burden, and he knew that it would be Andy. Andy is the only person with the patience and heart to understand and bring out the best in Cooper. Sadly, when Cooper’s father died on the day of the grade results, it’s like, a piece of Cooper went completely missing. Getting over his father’s death is one thing, but, i think that that event had a different negative impact on him. Like, Cooper lost the ability to confide and befriend people like he used to. He wanted to try and stop being gay right then and there which led him to start dating Chelsea, but even with that, it wasn’t enough... the last bet he made with Andy may as well be that, the last. He didn’t just lose the bet, he realized that he was about to lose the most important person of his life, the one he tried so hard to deny his feelings for. In life, the only thing a soul ever truly wants is to love honestly, and I think that will soon be made clear in the following pages.
I think in the shadows in the first panel were Cooper's thoughts on Emery and Andy together, but then Cooper imagine himself having Andy in his arms kissing. Man, I know that pain, Cooper. It's so hard seeing your crush with another person, especially when you're afraid to tell your crush how you feel.
that was the impression I got as well. it makes more since to e anyways. I'm sure coop know's what Andy and Emery did the night he called, but it the way coop looks is more like the day of the fare, and it just seems like his wouled was crumbling. that is clear by how he looked at the time, though we didn't know exactly why at the time.
I'm not really sure at what point exactly Cooper developed/admited his feeling for Andy... But still, this was a nice comic, and I like how it's ending blends with the original "Internship" story =)
However, I still ship Andy with Emmery. I still think Cooper is/has been a bit of a dick. I now know that he had his reasons (difficult childhood, abusive/drunk father,...), and I feel sympathy for him. But that doesn't mean he deserves Andy

This comic was great, but it could have been a little longer. It would have been nice to see some of how Cooper and Chelsea got together, like if he really did want a relationship with her or if it was just another act. Heck, maybe he didn't really want a relationship with her but he really wanted to want one, if that makes any sense.
such a heart renching tail of confusion and emotion. Took a few pages to realize what was going on, but now i want to keep reading and see how it turns out. I love reading comics like these. Sure there is adult content, but they always have the most heart felt, emotional, deep and caring stories in them. I wish my family could understand that. So i didn't have to read them in secret.
