Pleeeease watch the video of this massive tail in motion, the video also has a photo of the absent feet and the cool lights :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACxZSmUul84
This tail is made of insanity, insanity, fur, stuffing, and a pool toy.
The tail has a inflatable pool noodle in 80% of it with stuffing in the tip and base, the fact I found a long S curved inflatable for this crazy idea of a tail is a miracle really, and as a bonus the inside has flashing rainbow lights which show brilliantly through the white stripes! So this critter can light up the dance floor!
And yes the tail has support straps, I know there are purists out there that hate suspension on parts but really I was never gonna get away with this being free standing lol. Built into the fur pants is a custom harness system that holds up both the pants and tail, with 2 buckling straps across the front and a web of nylon strapping in the back, the tail attaches to 3 loops on the back of the harness under the shirt via clear bra straps that go through holes in the shirt, the straps can remove from the loops so the shirt can be washed.
Whhhiiiich in the video the side straps are too lax, I did not notice till after as were fighting the lighting the impending rain, so while the tail is manageable as-is in the video it will be more stable when those get tightened up.
This costumes does have paw feet, the slippers (and exposed ankles) are because the model was too tall with too big of feet to properly display the lower half of the costume.
This critter features a crooked grin with the whole muzzle twisting to one side with the smile, one ear is lower on purpose, and one eye wider on purpose, this gives the suit a bashful smile from one side, a perky alert expression on the other side, and a playful grin from the front, and I am very thankful to the client for letting me play with an asymmetrical head sculpt as not many people want such ^_^
DVC nose, eye blanks and paw pads, the rest of the work is by me :)
