While I've always thought it was important to have your own style, I also think it's important to have the ability to be versatile. I've always used a variety of art and cartoon styles from realistic to totally 'tooned' out...
I just felt like doodling a couple of styles that popped into my head, and Ace was my subject (I think I'm RATHER fond of the Ace that's adjusting his tie...that style catches my eye...I made a rhyme).
Ace Jackal belongs to me.

Haha, style 3 reminds me of James Dean. Awesome. |D
I think my personal favourites would either be 3 or 4, and I do agree that it's good to grasp hold of other styles, but I always try to incorporate a little piece of my own style into all the art I draw. It is really good practice to be open to switching it up every now and again, though. :)
Awesome job on this!

you are my hero just for putting in that first sentence. I can't begin to tell you how many artists i talk with every single day, and stress the need to stay versatile with their styles. If an artist becomes Stagnate in their art, they no longer progress, and an artist who doesn't progress will loose the interest of the people who once had their interest piqued by their art.
that and you did a really really good job displaying all the different styles

I saw this on the front page ago when it was actually ON the front page, but for some reason I said "BLUH BLUH I'm too busy right now to fave and watch, do that after finals." Whatever.
Anyway this is really cool! I have to keep in mind the shading on 3 and do something like that one of these days.
