‘I’ve got you,… uhn,… just,… hold on,… almost there,…’

Life on this island can be tough, and being the Guardian of the island is even tougher,… I’m happy to get all the help I can, even if a lot of times that help comes in the form of a rope at just the right time.”

‘I’m holding on,… *gasp*,… trust me,… *cough*,…’

“I’m really gonna need a bath after this,… and a bag of Fishy Crackers,…”

The series continues on, with the tenth image from the stupendous  toughset of my OC, Ember, and her sandy ordeal, as her mysterious rescuer is finally revealed as none other than her kitty friend, Yuppi12’s Carissa (https://www.deviantart.com/yuppi12). As Ember slowly emerges from the quicksand, with Carissa’s help, will this finally be the end of the Island Guardian’s treacherous tribulation?

Another great addition to the series, adding even more tension and drama to this already suspenseful series. As if the quicksand didn’t already look thick and gooey enough, it seems even more so as it now covers Ember, looking very heavy and clingy, yet you still get a great sense of her body, and her lovely curves, beneath it. Her straining expression is great, as she not only clings to the rope, but slowly pulls her spear back up with her. Yet, the spotlight here is clearly on Carissa, in her jungle attire, looking very strong and heroic as she comes to the rescue, Toughset’s style adds a very athletic quality to her physique, and I can’t help but be drawn to the blue of her eyes, that really draw your attention. Her pose and posture add greatly to the tension in this piece, legs braced, and torso twisting as she pulls on the rope, tail swaying behind her, as her hair flares out. The tautness of the rope is a great touch, and combined with the straining of Ember’s face, and the way the quicksand mounds up around, and behind Ember, gives a great sense of her being pulled up and through the quicksand. And all around them the hazy gloom of the jungle looms ominously, providing a great atmosphere that adds to the feel of the piece. Another beautifully done picture by Toughset.
