Boy of another world
Zadkiel is strange kid that was swimming in the waters till he noticed a wolf boy fallen into the deep waters during a sea storm. The little one sees that the wolf child was unconscious as he speeds to the boy to try to save him from sinking into the dark waters of the ocean.
While trying to get the kid up to the surface, Zad noticed that someone or something is pursuing em as it’s trying to match their speed, so the little scales managed to pick up the pace as he jumps out of the water with Gabriel as the speed made them able to land upon the big cruise ship.
Zadkiel placed Gabriel on the bench under the walkway’s roof to keep him out of the rain as the boy went back to look at the waters to see if the thing or person was still chasing em or gave up.
The lad looks out to see till he noticed some bubbles in the water, a shadow of a shark with red eyes staring at him as like it was very angry that whoever it’s target got away.
As the little one heads back to Gabriel to check if he’ all right, the rain was slowly stopping as it means that the storm is ending, Zad approaches the wolf kid as he examines him, he was relief to see the wolf resting and snoring.
With the winds calming, the boy sits near the wolf child to make sure he’ll be ok since the shark thing can still be out there waiting for a chance to get whoever it was pursuing, he makes sure to keep himself eased since he may have to protect himself and Gabriel.
In mere moments, Gabriel slowly wakes up as he finds himself on the seating bench of the cruise ship, till he tilts his head a bit to see a human boy sitting next to him, making the kid think that this boy helped him or something since all he can remember that he was near the rails of the ship before he blacked out.
“Hey… Easy now.. You had a bad fall there, take it easy.”
Gabriel rubs the back of his head as he remember a bit that he fell off after something hit him hard before falling.
“Ow… did… did you save me?”
As the wolf asks the human kid, the boy nods as he explains to him what happened.
“I saw you fall into the water as you were sinking slowly, motionless which push me to swim to you and save you before you go deeper into that deep blue sea.. getting you back on the ship wasn’t easy considering a shark was near by but luckily we got out in the nick of time.”
Gabriel was a little in awe that a shark could had eaten him or worse if it weren’t for this kid saving his wolf hide from the waters and the monster that almost got em.
“Thanks for saving me…. I… I didn’t get your name.”
The kid rubs the back of his head as he forgot to mentioned that in the beginning.
“Oh geez… I’m sorry about that! My name is Zadkiel, but you can call me Zad for short since it’s easy to say that than trying to pronounce my full name.”
“Hehe. Nice to meet you Zad, I’m Gabriel. Why don’t we hang out in my room where it’s warm and out of this cold night.”
Zad agreed since it’s better to be inside than out on the deck if that creature is still out there somewhere, so Gabriel shows where his room is at as they walk in the halls on the way to the room.
Gabriel opens the door to his room as both he and Zad enters inside.
The boys spent time talking as they both sit on the bed, as the night goes on, the kids were feeling sleepy and went to bed, Gabriel didn’t mind sharing a side of the bed with Zad since it’s late and appreciates him for saving his wolf butt from drowning.
With the dawn of the next day shines, Mari enters the room to see that Gabriel is still asleep but wonders on who is the child sleeping next to him so she closes the door to await for her son to wake up soon to ask him about it.
Into the day, Gabe introduces Zad to his family and explained that he saved him from falling off the ship which made the mother a little shock and concern about it as she lectures the boy about being too close to the rails till Zad mention about the storm last night.
Mari eased up a bit as she pats on her son’s head to make sure to be very careful next time.
The family and Zad begin to enjoy some meals… but Abram noticed that the kid was acting like that he never ate this kind of meal before as he could sense something about the child which the boy noticed the dragon watching him.
Later on, Gabriel and Zad enjoy themselves at the pool but the boy is just sitting on the edge to avoid the water some reasons which made Gabriel curious about it till he asks his new friend something.
“Zad, is something wrong? You’re not enjoying yourself, as you not soaking in the water..”
The kid kind of knew that it may happen, as he sighs as it seems that he may lose a friend over on what he may see.
“Well it is a nice day to relax… but I don’t want to get in this pool.”
Gabriel can see that the kid is hiding something since Abram always mention to him and Daniel about expressions on others that want to hide something.
“Zad… come on… you can tell me.. I want to be a good friend for you, and I want to show that you can trust me.. what is it, bud?”
The boy can see into the wolf’s eyes that he really means what he says, his words were more sincere to him as it may be all right fo him to be let in on the kid’s secret.
“All right then… Well… I’m not really…. Human.. I’m different… I can show my true self at will or whenever my body gets wet..”
Gabriel knew what he mean’t since his scent is something else than human as he hold his friend’s hand.
“You can show me if you like. You are the only friend I feel good with.. since I don’t have any friends at all..”
Zadkiel can see that Gabriel was lonely from his heart, which is the reason that the wolf enjoys and value their friendship at such a quick time together.
“All right then, just a peak for you my friend.. get ready.”
The boy dips his left leg into the water for a moment till he lifts it slowly to show the wolf boy the appearance of what he never saw before, as the leg that were dose in water was green scales with a red fin on the ankle back.
“Wow.. that is so cool! No wonder your scent was different!”
Zad smiles to know that Gabriel wasn’t frighten by the appearance of his true self.
“I do look human when I’m dry, but I’m totally different whenever I want to show… or when I’m wet, I’m just a Nirian to be precise.”
Gabriel wonders about it and begins to ask the next question.
“Nirian?… So you’re not from the sea then, Zad?”
The child nods as he lowers his leg back into the water to keep it hidden from sight for now as he about answer his friend’s question.
“Yes. My kind are like monkeys of the sea, but we’re not from here, from Earth. My father told me stories of our home planet, named Niri… A lush planet of wonderful ocean water with little spaces of lands. Our cities under the sea were so lively and peaceful till..”
Gabriel ponders as he listens closely to what Zad is about say.
“What happened to your home planet?..”
“This time happen about 2 millenniums ago as I was told by father, our planetary system was in danger due to our star was dying, close to a supernova as the waters of our planet were slowly evaporating by the star’s growing radiation..
The king of our race had our smartest folks work on colony ships to safely transport us to another world that may water and land in a safe condition for us to live in.
Father said that time when the Nirians safely left the planet, they can witness the star dying as one planet closest to it was being rip up by the flares of the star.. some say it was awe, while other say it was horrifying..”
Gabriel slowly pats on Zad’s back to comfort him to recall the story his father told him about.
“At least you’re here, safe and next to me, good bud.”
The child was happy and comfort to hear that from him, to know that the wolf cares for him, even if they barely met.
“Thank you, Gabe.. I know that everyone arrived on Earth over 100 years later after the time everyone departed from Niri. My race settle in the deep ocean as our homes were being built overtime, learning to adapt to the planet’s oceans and wild life.
As the reasons why I’m so secret of my true appearance to be seen, is because the inhabitants of this planet, the humans would be in fear to witness something different than them.. they would quickly attack without analyzing or reasoning.”
Gabriel held Zad’s hand as he recalled something that his grandmother would told him and Daniel.
“I remember stories my grandma told me and my siblings when we sit around and hear her tell us many years ago before the peace coexistence treaty was made.
Anthros like myself were feared as well by the humans, the high leaders and the dragon guardians made a planetary spell that would hide our appearances to the humans to be seen as humans like them.
When the spell begins to weaken in time many centuries, the humans can slowly see our true forms, causing a senseless war to act on fear.. humans using starter powers to attack, even some were truly evil to use it to murder defenseless anthros.
The tide of battle changes when more numbers of starters on the anthros side grew much more than the humans.. till the grand elders and the table step forth to offer peace and coexistence to the humans’ leaders, as they see that humans would lose more if they continue the pointless bloodshed.
So the war and fight were over, but some humans, and some anthros despised each other in low number though. But at least the battles were gone, as over time anthros can live freely with humans without negative reactions.”
Zad was in awe to find out that the events were happening while they were hiding under the sea.
“Amazing but really crazy.. Who knew that humans were give up when they’re outmatch.”
The wolf boy chuckles about what Zad said.
“Well not all humans are bad, just the asshole ones that think humanity is superior to other species out there, and it’s thanks to the elders and the table for sorting out the human governments.. it’s why the elders are respected deeply by many people, even the humans that see them as great ones.”
Zadkiel smiles as he enjoys the breeze of the day with his friend.
“It’s good that the worlds are changing for the better.. I hope I can see more one day..”
“Well Zad, when that day comes, I be happy to show you the world and more, I’ll keep a good eye on ya to make sure no one start their shit. That’s a promise.”
The boys laughed together as they enjoy the breeze of the good day, as they bond together throughout the cruise’s trip to China where Gabriel, and Daniel going to take on the Grand Student Exam.
As the day comes, Gabriel walks with Zad to the beach away from sight of other folks, the two remember the days they had fun, bonded and share stories together.
“I wish you could come with us to the exam…. It would be nice to have a good friend there with me.”
Zad feels bad that Gabriel wants him to come with him to the mountains, but the little one must return home to his father since he could b deeply worrying about Zad, so he took off one of his bracelets and put it on Gabriel’s left arm.
“Here… I want you to have this. As long you wear this, I can always know you’re ok and safe, and you won’t forget about me no matter how far apart we are from each other.
I… I hope we can see each other again soon..”
Gabriel hug Zad as he hopes for the same thing since he been a good friend to him.
“I will, Zad… and I promise we’ll meet again.. I swear it!”
The boy smiles as he slowly reverts to his true form, red hair like, with green scales that shine like the sun’s light, with yellow markings as he slowly gets ready to head out into the sea.
Before he can leave and head home, he says his last words to his friend.
“I’ll miss you, Gabe! Kick some ass at the exam… and one thing! I’ll tell you this since you’re my true friend! I’m also known as Prince Zadkiel, I’ll treat ya some real fun next time!”
Zad submerge into the waters as he waved good bye to Gabriel, as the wolf is impress to know that his friend is a prince of the Nirians. He’s glad to have a good friend that cheers him on and hope to sees him again.
But for now, Gabriel must be ready for the next task at hand to pass the exam and make his best friend proud!
Will they meet again in time? Only time can tell!
