Hot Take on Masters of the Universe Revelation - Part 3

Plus, He-Man is a good guy, and good guys are boring, according to edgelord writers who believe that lack of empathy and responsibility makes you charming.
Better get rid of him in the first episode (despite him being a major part of the advertising) and look feminist by focusing on a female warrior wielding a Sword of Power… Oh wait, there's already one, she's She-Ra.
And she got a reboot that actually adapted the queer undertones of the original show to the 2010s audience and made it a celebration of self-respect and diversity that actually earned both the love of progressive people and the hate of 4-channels.
And I wonder if Kevin Smith is trying to overshadow her, ride her gravy train, or he's just unaware that out there exists a remake of a MOTU property that got woke points, not the fake Disney remake points you get from throwing a bunch of people of color, some feminist talk, and vague hints at the queerness of some characters that can be easily removed in the Russian dub.
It's a mess. A pretty-looking mess and it gave us a butt shot of He-Man I hold dear. But the characters that get to stay alive are not likable and the race switch of some of them and the focus on Teela made the show gain the hate of 4channers but not the appreciation of the queer and queer-friendly community.
It stays in the middle, the worst place to be.

Thanks for voicing my thought out!
The remake itself as qualities but each of them are just shadowed by how Teela is shoehorned as the main character, how Kevin Smith lied to the community that wanted a return of He Man, how the first trailer was purposefully deceptive, how every moments of actions that hyped the community was an out-of-context scene that, in the end, only served to push further the image of Teela the MC.
I would have been okay with the serie if it was clear from the start that isn't a serie about He-Man but instead a sort of Spinoff, an alternative stories that instead focused on supporting characters.
But even that statement is wrong since a large part of the five episodes is only dedicated to Teela and her partner (which i already forgot because her sole function was "I'm an engineer and therefore i am going under a vehicle during a fight just to do... Engineer stuff and deactivate weapons out of nowhere"
The scenario had potential and yet, it fall flat with how rushed it is in the end and how we are deceived... Not only one but twice.
And i'll be clear. I can't hate the serie itself but i can and will despise the peoples that lead the project in its current state and those who approved it
Edit:
And i forgot to copy past the last part, my weird comment:
Where's the meme? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZ5LpwO-An4

In the same way some successful and well-written shows are cancelled without any clear reasons given to the public.
It's like producers are so lost in their own egos they cannot even fathom the idea peoples have their own opinions and it may contradict their own.
And then, some series get rushed, writers teams are forced to bend to producers' whimsical demands and pet projects are forced down our throat until we'll all throw up in unison at how terrible it is.
... Just wish we could reach them through internet and knock some senses into their thick skulls.

Devoid of queer charm? we miss the entire third episode, robot's character arc, teela's everything
Seriously they might as well as put "Man at Arms is a gay bear super daddy" in big ass letters ep3
Heaven is leather dinoriders convention!
With bareback riding triceratops and wrestling panthers. With bro hugging wrapup parties and like ONE lady who is both one of the guys and certainly has some drag aesthetic
Himbo He-Ro? (reminded me of Prime/Kevin Greene from Malibu comics)
Sub Beastman, domme evil-lynne
Its just. .well writing and so on is bad or at least not as good as think it is

The pants-wetting designs are a merit of Powerhouse Entertainment Studios, not of Kevin Smith.
While Robot and Teela arrive quite late to the party. They would have been interesting in the 90s, but nowadays they're quite middle of the road.
And the "accept your specialness" character arc of Teela is the most unrelatable thing I can think of.
But if you liked the show and it resonated with you, that's good, I can't and don't want to take it away from you. It's not creepy at least.

I'll be honest, I hated She-Ra. It was boring and didn't have any of the charm of the old one.
As for He-Man, it's just so mediocre. They seem to be trapped between trying to have some good campy humor and being edgy. It fails at both.
I think Teela is so unlikable. Andra is basic, but I like her design and at least she'd good.
Teela is just a brat. (I still like old Teela, just not whatever this one is trying to be.)

Yeah, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power has a lot of flaws, mostly the fact that we don't spend enough time with the titular "Princesses of Power" and most of them come off as bratty. But that would have required a "serialized series" kind of format where you can afford a lot of self-conclusive episodes that don't advance the main plot but give nice little adventures and character interactions.
Something you can't dream of in streaming television because it's meant to be binge-watched and you lose a lot of little cute and funny moments.
Also the fact that is a story about a bunch of magical child soldiers, but anime does that all the time.
Also fuck whoever says that networks are pushing a queer agenda, because this show is criminally underfinanced and the had to do the best they could with the tight budget.

The story isn't bad per se, I feel like the prologue should have been the first season and the bulk of the first season the second season.
We're asked to feel the sense of loss of the characters, when we spent not enough time in this Eternia pre-cataclysm.
The Teela-Adam relationship should have been explored, especially because Adam looks much younger than her, while in the Filmation cartoon they looked the same age and they both had that older sibling's calm attitude, thing that doesn't apply here.
They're inspired by the Filmation characters, design-wise, but they aren't them

orko is dead, his death was leomonb levels of stupid and pointless. pure cheap drama...again, like any of the ten thousand times leomon has died.
teela, unlikeable and unbearable. makes rey from star wars look like sarah connor...that bad and mary sue she is.
and mister smith already announced that season 2 is focused on evil lyn becoming a heroine and betraying skeletor, cus, according to the sack of puss kevin smith is...evil lyn was always a slave of skeletor, sure...this guy never saw the damn series, that's obvious, also...he must start wearing adult pants already, he is over 50 or whatever. he looks like an imbecile.

He should hire a PR agent, definitely. That persona of "fanboy who made it" is embarrassing at best and easy to disprove at worst.
Teela would have been a decent character if, in the end, she had to come to terms with that shitty behavior at the end of the episode. The realization "Bey, you're not the only one hurting, stop being so self-centered" is pretty useful in a heroic journey.
Speaking of that, stop using the monomyth in such a rigid way! She has her symbolic "death" literally in Eternia's underworld!
