not so easy with Luffy. his rubber powers function differently than the others and he uses them in very creative ways that would take reed off guard. that's also not counting all the haki's power he uses. but I'm unsure how well that would stack with plastic man. I'm not sure how well a fighter he is but I know he is powerful and deadly. and also he too uses power outside that normal stretchy power reed and elastic girl use.
As a onepiece fan the best i think luffy could try is his fire move that he came up with.Im not sure if its hot enough or lasts long enough to mess with plasticmans powers but plasticman is weak to sudden extreme temperature changes (Sudden extreme cold freezing him and extreme heat essentially melting him for a little while making him unable to shapeshift or move) That said this weakness is only good for stopping him for a little while before he recovers.
If this is deathbattle rules then plasticman wins but i can think of a few battle rules that could net a win for luffy this way-for eg ringout= a win.

Luffy rabbit gatling gun with the fire would do message damage and I also think his armor haki would be very effective.
Not sure with death battle rules. I don't like how they keep using abscue or side things or instances where things were done for the rule of cool. Also they seem to do what deadliest warrior did and focus to much on the powers and not how the powers were used in fights.

Very true.I dont follow deathbattle as much as I used to as their logic can be very wierd creating odd results. My meaning by saying death battle rules is fighting to the death which is an autolose cause plasticman is either immortal or so close to it its impossible to work out how to kill him.
He has survived being reduced to molecules and scattered across the floor of the ocean for 3000 years with no ill effects(Hes already pretty crazy so its hard to tell what that did to him mentally) so hes got to be destroyed all the way down to beyond the molecular level for death to have a chance to stick.Yeah for a league member who rarely gets any attention hes absurdly hax @.@.
Sorry for the slow response.Been a bit busy.I had to look this one up and its a bit of a grey area,Because of his brain being non organic hes extremely resistant to telepathy and is implied to be resistant to mind control but hes not outright immune.
As for magic he doesnt have any set immunities to it but anything that inflicts damage wont slow him down much so more creative uses of magic are needed to beat/contain him.
In short plastic man is a massive goof in universe and the main reason hes allowed in the league is him having fun playing hero means he wont get bored and cause absolute chaos(Also batman and so on hope that being around heros will be a good influence on him). The other reason is that dispite being a goofball when he actually does get serious hes potentially capable of singlehandedly fighting threats that could beat the entire league combined.

yeah take you time I aksed for information with American comics so I sure I chucked a hand genrade lol but this just gives me a whole lot to think about.
so plastic man has a good resistance to physical physic means but leaves him wide open for magic mind games. its like the reverse thing with the illithid and wizards from DnD
now would that mean normal magic that just causes plan damage wont work or if the magic has other effects will do better? like a regular fireball ninjustu from naruto is just fire but the black fire with itache is something else completely.
and interesting. i mainly know plastic man from batman brave and the bold. so it soo odd seeing him there and looking at comics and seeing him as a demented mad man doing bloody lovecraft horrors.

okay for first place i place a tie with monkey D fluffy and plasticman. both powers go beyond of just stretching and if I remember right plastic man can do some fuck up stuff.
3 elastic girl. she knows how to use her power and how to fight.
The last place is reed cause he is a bloody idiot. doesn't follow through and is better suited to be behind a desk than in the field. how dr doom been unable to beat him just shows how his own arrogance keeps getting in his way.

Yeah Reeds more useful for his brain than his powers.Out of all the fantastic 4 he uses his powers the least and is most known for wrapping people up rather than attacking. As for Luffy and plasticman youve got a point,Though plasticman can change into anything and even do sharp attacks that would harm Luffy Haki can protect against practically anything making it a pretty long fight=).
Now again I'm not the best with comic but a running theme with reed seems he keep forgetting to Carrie over the 1 in coculation and messing things up. Again how is he the leader?
Not just protecting but that same hakinis used for attacking and harming even elemental beens. Now I'm not sure how that works on plastic man but I think he can cause more harm to his whole been.
