Cool, crisp air clings to the mountain forest. Fresh, powdered snow lays lightly on the ground and adorns the mighty evergreens, remaining undisturbed by the footfall of any creature. The forest is quiet, the creatures having retired to their burrows and their caves for the duration of the night, huddled for warmth with their mates and their offspring. The clouds having spent their moisture begin to dissipate, revealing the grandeur of the night sky. The stars twinkle and shimmer in some unimaginable corner of the universe, many of them long dead, and many more recently born whose light has yet to be witnessed. The moon and stars reveal a single set of large, canine footprints. Seemingly the sole active denizen of the forest, the guardian wanders those woods, ever vigilant and ever watchful. The stars glimmer and gleam in her coat, as they do above. A light in the sky catches her eye, she tilts her head to see it streak across the horizon. Silently and gracefully she bounds onto a fallen tree to get a better look. She stares up in wonder as the stars themselves dance across the sky in a dazzling display of beauty.
I simply cannot express how much I am in love with this piece! Everything about it is just so perfect! Her fur! I can’t get over how soft and warm she looks! Her feathers and her floofy tail are so gorgeous, I just love how they drew my gal! Her expression is just so precious as she looks up at the beauty of the shooting stars, I wonder what she might wish for? The breath is such a nice touch and really sells the cold of the evening! I could gush about this endlessly, every time I look at it I find something else to love about it ^^

And as always, your smol lil' story adds character to the drawing itself, which already looks gorgeous, still really love that background, so many details!

I’m still figuring out her lore, but she is in balance with nature and she deeply cares for her home. So at the very least, she is a guardian in that sense. I think she is some kind of spirit or embodiment of the forest she calls home, but I wouldn’t presume that there can’t be other guardians of those woods.

She is still a work in progress as far as backstory and what not, but her being a part of the forest so to speak just feels right to me.
