Silver stretched out, their tail swishing. It seemed to be early dawn, Silver thought she should make a quick stop to the town. She needed to grab more supplies after all. She'd shape shift into her human form. Putting a short little jacket over her kimono, to hide any chances of anyone seeing her face or tails.
With a small sigh she got up and began to walk away, looking a bit surprised at the dark clouds gathering above her.
Rain will be soon, better get going. She'd continue walking, being a little wet wouldn't be too much of a problem. She just had to grab some supplies and then go home.
She decided to take in the sights while she could, the forest was much more pretty to her than a stupid human town. As she continued to walk her mind came back to the thing she saw in the forest.
What was that anyways.. it couldn't have been a ghost, I know that for sure. Maybe someone used an illusion to mess with me? No! You're so stupid Silver! There's no body in this forest who can use magic! Expect for maybe Serpent, but I think he's gone. Well hopefully he's gone.
"Yo! Shirubā!" Serpent tapped her from behind, Silver jumped a bit and whipping around with a loud snarl.
"I thought I told you to leave! You mangy flea-bitten asshole! Also my name is Silver! Silver! You dumbass!"
"Right right, Silver. Anyways I told you I'd be back! I'm here to try and have you remember me!" Serpent smiled.
"Yeah no, fuck off I'm busy right now. It can wait" she walked off to go to the human town.
"Hm, what are you doing?"
"None of your business!" Silver snapped.
"Oh c'mon Silver, you know we're friends right? You can tell me!" He smiled walking besides Silver.
Silver sped up.
"No we're not friends! You fucking idiot!
Serpent looked a bit annoyed, his tail quit wagging as he stepped in front of her.
"Here why don't I come along with you!" Serpent insisted with a small growl.
She took a step back.
"Are you trying to threaten me?"
"Of course not! I'm just trying to help a old friend!" Serpent stood firm, as if he hadn't just snarled at her.
Silver rolled her eyes, before noticing Serpent seemed a bit ready to attack her. A small amount of fear sparked in her, she didn't wanna fight another kitsune who seemed much more stronger than her.
She felt a surge of anger with that fear, she couldn't handle it. She didn't like the fact someone could beat her in a fight, wait how would she know that if she didn't try.
She bared her teeth, she wasn't gonna put up with being bossed around by some fucking useless good for nothing man! Withholding every urge to pounce onto the taller kitsune and tear them to pieces, she'd push past the kitsune.
"Fuck off, we're not friends. Also, don't try that mind game again! I know it was you behind that supposed ghost!"
Serpent's forest green eyes sparked with curiosity.
"What? I didn't do anything like that, I swear!" Serpent walked beside her.
"I'm not that stupid! I'm a kitsune, I know what fox magic looks like dumbass!" She spat at the dog fox besides her.
"I didn't! I would never trick a vixen!" Serpent insisted, Silver felt her blood boil unable to handle it anymore.
"Do you think I'm a toy?..." She mumbled her tone filled with a cold malice.
"Of course not Sh- Silver! We're friends, we've been friends ever since we were cubs!" Serpent continued to insist.
"I'm not a fucking puppet or toy for you to mess with! Cut it out, I don't fucking know you! You're just some mangy dog!" She paused the angry rant stepping closer to the taller man.
"Silver I'm gonna request you-" Silver didn't allow him to speak, she'd finally snap and punch him in the face. She wished she had claws in her human form so she could rip out his eyes.
"I'M NOT YOU'RE GODDAMN TOY! DO YOU HEAR ME? I'M NOT, NOT, NOT A TOY!" she snapped about to throw another punch, Serpent grabbed her arm swiftly and twisted it.
"I said calm down! I don't want to control you, I'm trying to help you because you're hopeless if you don't remember me!"
Silver held back an angry screech and began to try and struggle away from Serpent.
"Please, just let me help you remember your past.." Serpent lowered his voice to a more pleading and desperate tone.
Silver felt herself relax now the stupid amounts of clinginess had supposedly faded away for now. Maybe I misjudged him, And if I really do know him would he be able to tell me about myself? Or is it all just a scheme? The vixen unclenched her fists and pulled her arm away defiantly away from Serpent, even if he wasn't a threat to her, she wouldn't ever let him fully control her.
"Well then.... Serpent, after I make this stop to the human town. Explain my past" Silver cringed at every word as they fell out of her mouth.
"How about we go together, I'd like to know this version of you since I'm unsure if I'll ever get the old version back."
Serpent seems too calm about what if I don't go back? What would I do if I had friends in that life, they'd be getting introduced into a mockery of someone they once knew!
The thought flooded her mind as she walked along the dirt road towards the small human town, a small drizzle began to start a few minutes after she and Serpent had made it there.
"Jeez what a gloomy town" Serpent mumbled grabbing her hand.
"Don't." She pulled her hand away, walking into the nearly empty streets of the village.
She looked at each store sign, pausing for a moment to read before letting out a frustrated sigh that she couldn't find the specific store.
It's certainly been awhile since I've been here- Silver's gaze met a gaze of a middle aged woman, they had curly red hair and dark green eyes. Oh shit! Silver grabbed Serpent's arm and swiftly began to walk into some alleyway.
"H-Hey! Shirubā!"
"Silver! Remember my god damn name idiot!" She replied snappily as they continued to walk away from the girl.
"Wait! Excuse me!"
Silver turned around releasing Serpent's arm.
"Sorry to bug you but did you say your name was Silver?"
Silver tilted her head in mock confusion.
"I don't think so, my name is Shirubā." Serpent scoffed at the comment.
"Oh what happened to your nickname Silver?"
"SERPENT!" She mumbled irritated.
"So you were real.. all this time, I thought it was all just a dream" the girl tensed up, a mix of unclear emotions clouded her eyes.
"I don't know what you're talking about missy." Silver would attpemt to continue to seem confused.
"Don't lie to me! I know who you really are!" Silver covered her mouth looking around.
"Not here, It wouldn't be safe enough to reveal anything here." She removed her hand from the girl's mouth and stood in silence for a moment.
"We could head to my home, my family is on a hunting trip so it'll be safe!"
Silver looked at the ground for a moment before returning her gaze to the girl. "Alright, I'll make sure to explain everything there. Lead the way" she kept her voice low, hoping no one overheard too much of that conversation.
The woman began to lead the way, Serpent leaned over to her to whisper something.
"Do you know this girl or something?" Serpent continued to whisper, Silver only nodded calmly.
I thought I'd never see that kid again, it's good to see she's got her life together.. Silver smiled warmly, it was nice to know this was the first person she was ever able to successfully heal. At least from what she could remember, her eyes lit up.
She knew that if she remembered this much she wasn't hopeless! Maybe she could remember what happened to even make her lose her memory! She began to feel a bit more cheerful knowing there was a possibility to learn something about herself.
They stopped at a stone home, a rather small one with a garden outside the home. Even if it was fall each flower seemed to have been vigorously cared for. Silver stopped to admire the plants, she wasn't able to keep her garden alive when the cold hit so it was nice to see some more pretty flowers.
Slowly the lady opened the door. "Go take a seat, and make yourselves comfortable."
"Thank you" Serpent said walking in, Silver followed behind him.
She stood by a chair Serpent had sat down in, candles dimly lit the place.
"Silver you can sit you know."
"I'm fine with standing, now is it really you Marigold?" Silver stared the woman up and down.
"You remembered me!" Marigold smiled, Silver smiled back.
"You're all grown up now!" Her tail wagged excited to see a old friend again.
"How's Raven doing?" Silver noticed Serpent tense up at the mention of this Raven person.
"Raven? Who is that?"
"I'm so sorry! Silver seems to have lost parts of her memory!"
"Jeez, I could've told her myself." Silver rolled her eyes at Serpent.
"Oh... Well who's this then?"
"Someone who calls himself by Serpent. And claims to be my friend." She said glaring at Serpent.
That's right, remain silent. This is my business, dumbass. Silver nearly growled, but decided she'd not be so rude near a good friend of hers.
"Oh.. So why didn't you visit beforehand?"
"I knew that was coming... I'm sorry, I was hoping one day you'd consider it all to be a dream. It was for your safety." She exhaled a small sigh.
"Safety, what do you mean by that?"
"I can't explain it fully right now, because I have to get going unfortunately. I have someone I need to help back home"
"Oh I can help you with that! I've been testing new medical tools recently, and these have shown to be useful for closing a wound." Marigold handed her a box of the supposed medical item, she smirked.
"Guess I must've rubbed off on you!" She chuckled.
"That's what living with a crazy person does to you!"
Silver hugged Marigold.
"Thank you, I'll try and stop in for a visit more often."
"Stay safe you two! Don't get into trouble either!"
Silver walked out without another word, clutching the box in her hand. By the time she stepped out it was starting to downpour.
Lovely.. rain, I absolutely love rain. Silver walked back down the street carefully. Though stopping as she got lost, each building seemed practically like the same one.
What the hell? Am I even going anywhere? Silver let out a frustrated sigh before turning to Serpent, who was dead silent ever since the mention of Raven.
"Serpent, I am officially lost. Fix this!"
"Idiot, c'mon" he roughly grabbed her hand and began to drag her somewhere.
Silver nearly pulled back at him for how hard he grabbed her, still clutching the box she stared at the town. It was so nauseating, how did humans deal with such little amounts of trees where they lived? Like no flowers? Bushes? Well when there were some they were extremely scarce.
Silver stepped inside her tree, noticing the bird boy was awake.
"Oh so you lived"
He just glared at her, Silver flicked her tail. "I think the correct word is thank you for not letting bleed out on the ground honey" sitting down she'd open the box carefully.
Oh shit, I probably should've asked for instructions on how to use these.. Silver stared at the little thorn like things, they weren't wood, but something man made she couldn't pin down yet.
"Anyways Serpent, explain while I help... Uh, Bird boy what do they call you?"
He ingored her.
"Wow very helpful, Well guess I'mma start calling you whatever I feel like dumbass"
"Leave me alone." He replied snappily.
Silver heard Serpent loudly sigh behind them.
"Can you just listen to her, she's only trying to help idiot."
Silver narrowed her eyes, this was clearly her job! Not his!
"Dark Pit."
"Silver, and also I'm somewhat sorry for kidnapping you"
"Somewhat?"
She just rolled her eyes. "Least I'm truthful"
"Whatever" she heard him mumble.
Silver took off their shirt.
"Hey!"
Silver just looked at him like he was a dumbass.
Might as well test these out... Silver took a glance away from his injury, the sight of blood making her a bit light headed.
Making the thorn like things float, Silver stared at her hand.
Why am I so shaky? It's just blood, I should be used to seeing it.
Silver began to weave the thorn like things through his wound, holding him still as he struggled a bit. Sorry.. I know it probably hurts. Silver thought as she finished, but she wasn't about to say that to his face.
Silver finished and gave him his shirt back, adverting her gaze back to Serpent.
"Now explain"
"Alright, I'll start with the very beginning."
"You and I we used to live in a village far north from here, I remember exactly how one day you wanted to run away. You said it was because you simply had enough of staying in one place." Serpent spoke, he seemed to remember each part in great detail.
Silver simply nodded for him to continue.
"We ran around for awhile, tricking humans, stealing. It was a lot of fun, but after a bit of a beat up we both quit and continued our travels. And we ended up here at this forest, I....I" Serpent began to studder nervously.
"Spit it out!"
"Confessed to you, we were together for awhile. Until you spilt a part finding a love for another, Raven. Raven returned you feelings, but ended up having to leave as her family did. And then you kinda disappeared then."
"I can see why I dumped you for someone else."
"Rude! But ugh! But that's not the point, did you recall any of that at all?"
She shook her head. "The name Raven seemed familiar, but other than that, this is all new."
Serpent sighed. "I'll be back at the human town, you just focus on helping little bird boy here!"
Dark Pit scowled at what Serpent called him, Silver turned to her bookshelf.
Maybe reading would pass the time as Serpent did whatever he was doing. Grabbing a book from her shelf she opened it, her tail swishing calmly.
Her mind was restless, what was her village like? Was it close north, or far north? Could she go there? Meet her parents, or other family? Her mind jumped from question to question, Silver found herself unable to focus on the book.
End of chapter!
I hope it was at least decent. Instead of hot garbage, but y'know. This- was very long, much longer than the original version
