The friendly Tiger named Tene came to wish Shiny the Totodile a happy birthday (or hatchday if you like). Of course for such a big and strong Tiger anything of Shiny's little height was as easy to pick up as the little surprise he brought with him.
Knowing that Shiny loved balloons, the kind big Tiger got him one and looked for his small friend. The Totodile didn't shriek as his big dude embraced him with a hug and wished him well for his special day. Shiny rather was greeted by the soft and fluffy Tiger fur and felt pretty much cozy right away. As Tene waved his tail to the side for revealing his balloon gift to Shiny, the jolly Totodile exclaimed a happy cheer over the wonderful company and comfort.

A freindly surprise that I once received by Tenebryocta (now tigerinascarf).
Time aligned too well for now to use as one of the various artworks to share on my birthday. You see, 2022 in the Chinese zodiac marks the year of the Water Tiger. Since Shiny's Pokémon Type is Water already and their colors match this year's lucky colors black, blue and orange, it seemed just all very sweet to me.
The Tiger is known as the sign of the brave and unyielding spirits who show optimism and compassion. Shiny sure will have a lucky new year with such a guardian friend pretty much. Of course all sorts of the twelve Animal signs in Chinese zodiac have their lucky times throughout this year and I appreciate all the well wishes and cuddles and balloons that people might like to share with my Totodile mascot.

Tene is a talented traditional artist and has often showcased with his works a lovely detail to his and other characters. I felt like adding a frame and structure to further focus the view on his illustration of his Tiger and Totodude; also of course to add to the Chinese New Years card effect. Lastly I settled a bit to the saturation and contrast slightly to bring out the nice coloration more.
I love this kind of motif always. Friendly and loving hugs and cuddles are always filling me with such warmth and I always like them because of how close and dear it creates of a connection between characters. The dynamic of most of Shiny's dudes being big only mean that Shiny can receive even bigger portions of such hugs really. ❤️️

Tigers are beautiful animals with their stripes and impressive built in real life for sure and Tene who merges both the realism and very gentle nature of that of a kids book illustration of them does create a really sweetheart of a Tiger for his character. It looks like he's simply very happy to hold onto the smaller Shiny like if he were a plushie. The big paws and well mixing color tones give off the image of a adorable big protector.

Shiny looks cute and it's a fun detail how much he bascially is sunken in between the masses of fur. Some of his features obstructed from view emphasizing the difference in their character dynamics but such mix greatly as it feels pretty much parental even as how much the happy hatchday kiddo is shielded by fur and so surrounded in the Tiger's lucky paws. It's a definite yes for that Shiny would gladly stay there for a while, especailly if the weather might turn out to be colder than expected. Tene is sure to keep him toasty. Thank you, Tene! X3


Anyways, my biggest wishes for my new year of life are the same as usual: That we all get to share happy times together. If I can add more to Shiny and entertain some of you through him, then that would be of course even greater yet.
