AtrocityAtWork
Just seem like every other temple that Cain asked Daren to explore with him. Full of dangerous and deadly traps, loops that lead to nowhere, and even riddles that take a lot of thought. Yet, for whatever reason, Cain really wanted to go through this temple. It seemed that, whatever was in there, he wasn't going to let it be.
Soon, they went to the very bottom of the temple, which was a massive room that contained nothing but a necklace. This necklace, with a vaguely cross-like design and with a red crystal, attracted Daren's attention. Cain's eyes shined like yellow stars, with his hand-paws rubbing against each other. His dreams, his desires, everything within that one little necklace. All that he needed was to put it on.
However, as Cain imagined everything he would do as an all powerful god, Daren slipped it on, not knowing its true value. It was just a beautiful necklace to him, not something that will uplifted him beyond any mortal realm.
Soon enough, a massive amount of power began to flow through Daren's body, with multiple changes happening at once. His slim form became muscular, already ripping through the green shirt before he began to grow in size. Massive bracers, with universes as its gems, formed around his forearms even as his red fur turned silver, his tails splitting into nine. Already, with just a cramped push, he proved strong enough to push pillars of stone as though they were nothing, his jeans and aloha shirt growing along him.
Even as Daren blushed, wondering what was going on, Cain flopped back with a lame expression. Sure, he often imagined his friend being all powerful, but he felt disappointed that he let something as powerful as that slipped away. Hopefully, Daren would figure out what was going on, and then some fun stuff would really begin.
Hopefully.
(Not sure if I should have this as a new version of Daren or not. Though I think it would be best to see him as a counterpoint to Astridsune.)
