I never thought I'd be putting Lupin in a comic >>; but yes this is basically how I work. The common phrase I was use to was "Because I said so" if I ever asked why. Now that I'm in my 30s and seeeeeem to be an adult people are least by default tell me reasons.
Also I'm learning now there are other kinds of BPD, but I've gotta wait a little before I figure out my camp. I seem to be a mix of Self-Destructive and Petulant :S

It's always difficult dealing with this sort of thing because so many people believe that folks have absolute self control, and if they do something it was intentional, but that's not how it is. We do get to control ourselves a lot, but most people don't choose to have emotions.
Folk'll say "You made me do this!" or "You made me feel this way!" and others will say they couldn't, because they don't control you, you control yourself. But if someone insults you, you didn't choose to feel insulted, the emotion happened as a result of what they did. You can struggle with it, try to keep it under control, but you can't just choose not to feel it.
Accepting responsibility for the things that are a part of you but you can't control is important, but also knowing that you can't control it means trying to keep others from triggering those out of control bits.

It's certainly a thing.. Hormone therapy gave me my emotions back, and from what I've learned? I've always had very strong emotions just I had to flatten them out due to all the abuse. An now after coming back out and talking more my emotions have lit up as well.
With the HRT just making them even stronger. I kinda was a ticking time bomb? I've talked with my bio sister a lot about it. She's explained to me as a kid I was insanely emotive, and expressive but it went away over time.
So yaaaaaay the thing I've always wanted in my life to be a woman had a trap laid on it by my bio parents ♡♡♡ awesome.
