Big heart

Shanna was a nerdy girl who loved reading above human interaction.
She was young and had a low self-esteem. Upon puberty, she realized she liked girls.

There was one animal she had a fascination for, and it was the giraffe, the animal with the biggest heart.
Her parents knew about this. As a reward for her being a role model daughter and excellent student, they planned to go to a safari zoo with her, so she could meet the local giraffes up-close and personal.

Shanna had a friend that went by the motto of Magic, a motto that didn’t hide anything about her lineage of witches, nor the fact that her pride and ambition was because of her witch side of learning, and not the academic side of learning. They were both ten when they first met. Magic saw Shanna as her tutor over hard-to-understand academic stuff. Soon she realized she was more than that.
The two grew to become best friends, and even as Magic was the outgoing one, she only had her as a friend, and was possessive over her. When both girls were 14 years old, Magic realized that at times, she saw Shanna as more than a friend. Yet she was afraid to ask, or to experiment.
This tormenting ordeal lasted for weeks before Shanna asked her to go to a safari together, to show her something cool.

Magic prepared a special spell for the occasion.

Upon arrival, Shanna was uninterested in other animals; she asked for the giraffe straight away. Both girls were so lucky as to be led by the keeper to the giraffes to interact with them, to touch them. They were told the animals were perfectly tame.
A gigantic female giraffe, the matriarch, lowered her head at them and gave them a quick sniff. The keeper told the girls and everyone else that giraffes form sisterhoods that last for life, even if those bonds are not sex related.

Shanna wanted to touch the matriarch’s heart, to experience truly what the largest heart felt like. It didn’t disappoint at all, and she was hypnotized by the sensation.

Unnoticed, Magic took a piece of paper out of her jacket and recited something in a language no one understood. When the chant ended, the giraffe spoke in plain English, and to both girls’ surprise, the giraffe could understand them as well; it was a magical experience all along.
The matriarch called them tiny giraffes that she would protect. She told them that one day both would come back to her and join her herd, and they would be welcomed.

She also told them that it was dangerous to repress their feelings so much...
“What do you mean?” Magic asked. Shanna felt nervous.
The matriarch said, "Open your lips to each other and let your tiny tongues play, and it will become clearer than daylight.”

What the giraffe was proposing sounded horrible, but Shanna was curious, so was Magic. They did this when they were alone somewhere else at the zoo.
It was their first kiss, a kiss to their very souls. Since Shanna was a little disgusted and didn’t know how to do this she let her tongue out. Magic followed suit. Their tongues danced and danced before their lips touched. Their hearts were giggling while the kiss lasted for about a minute before they got caught.

Enraged, the girls’ parents ended the relationship before it could become something else.
Magic was sent to a school far away. Their parents made sure they had no means to contact each other.

Shanna tried to forget that moment - but to no avail. She romanticized it and began writing a small book on the topic: a novel about romance that did not end in misery.

Magic was distraught and she never lost her taste in Shanna. She had an epiphany: she remembered a complicated spell where a witch could transform into something else and return to human; but if she tried it both on someone else and herself, the spell grew risky and complicated.
It was a hard-to-understand thing. It would take her years to fully comprehend how to cast it.

Shanna, as she grew older into a young adult, kept visiting the giraffes and feeling at home. She became a regular at the zoo.
In her twenties, she caught a glimpse of a familiar face, her friend. But not knowing if it was truly her, she approached shyly. Both recognized each other - even as years had passed - and exchanged numbers.

Magic told her that her love for her never waned, just as the heroine from Shanna’s book, and she had prepared a spell that would turn them both into giraffes - but it was risky.
In case the magic was too strong or botched, they needed to do this at the zoo when nobody was watching.

They went to this safari zoo and hid until twilight. They removed their clothing as Magic was chanting a spell.
At first Shanna was feeling too cold, wondering if this would work.

Then she felt hot, soft fur with large spots was growing on her, and Magic was growing those as well.
“So far so good,” said Magic.
“I have been waiting for you for so long,”- Shanna replied. “To finish what we started.”
“What?” asked Magic.
“That kiss, the kiss that changed it all.”
Visuals: the fur grows but not on parts that will change later, like neck, hands and feet, heads, etc... but should cover their intimate parts)

"Stick your tongue out," they almost said this at the same time. As adults, they knew that was not the way to give a proper kiss, but that was the way they learned and liked, their own way.

18.
As they kissed, their hearts pounced and grew bigger. All the while they could hardly breathe with all the kissing action.
Visuals: They kiss the tongue of each other outside the mouth

Soon their tongues became purplish, slimy, and longer by the second - so long that they could not be put inside the mouth.

Soon after they broke the tongue dance-kiss, they licked each other on the face with their new tongues and they laughed)

Their feet became hooves and they fell on their hands (1 page)

They could feel something odd burning on their spines. Experimentally watching their butts, they could see a tail forming. (1 page)

And lastly, they were growing tall, much taller than their human lives and puny problems.
As they did, their necks extended rather painfully at first, and their minds were losing their own human side. To console each other they hugged their extending necks respectively and told each other:) Visuals: They grow quite tall while quadrupedal and their necks extend and grow wider

"I will always be there for you, always, no matter what happens,” as their faces reformed and they lost the ability to speak. (1 page)

Soon they smelled themselves from an animal perspective. In a manner of moments, they were joined by the other five female giraffes, led by the matriarch they had met years ago.

The matriarch did not know the spell power would wane and they would return to humanity some months later. Visuals: They are again women and sharing a good time on the apartment of one of them

But those months they spent together as giraffes were the start of something wonderful. Visuals: They are remembering those times they spent as part of the matriarchs group.
