The Wood Burns, Thus Burns the Forest Prince
Eyeshine in the dark,
Gleaming teeth in flamelight spark,
Be the shape they fear.
Armor marr-ed sure,
Sparrowlike the bladetip flits,
And catches firelight.
So fate’s river flows,
So the trees like autumn burn,
So the Wood’s destiny,
So my heart a tinderbox,
Firelight’s cracking pop,
By which the plasma sings us,
Stars’ and Sun’s and Flame’s Heartsong.
...
What did you see?
For what did you sell such sweet summer days?
Will it be worth it to burn together?
