Remosians"My king's flesh was stripped away by dark, magical fire still he was not but bone. Those bones then arose and kneeled before the lich who had raised him. I am sorry, my emperor, but if that is not a rite of conquest, I do not know what is." -Remosian Noble to the Curdan Emperor, Explaining their TreasonIn the days of the elves, the Remosians were a simple farming people and were often made into servants by their elvish masters, but when the elven havens were being constructed that ordeal changed for the far worse. Remosians, along with other humans, were forced to build the vast and magical Havens under harsh conditions and in chains, and many perished before being freed by the Curdans. This servitude under the elvish was replaced with a Curdan yoke, who made the Remosians build war camps, and returned their people to harsh conditions as laborers and slaves to their war machine which crushed what remained of the elvish empire. To this day, the Remosians still hold their servitude in a strange regard, their heraldry and symbols hark back to those days in a cultural aspect. Many animal crests are often adorned with shackles and collars, symbols are covered in chain, and gargoyles adorn the cathedrals and structures of their cities.
This yoke of their ever continued servitude continued under the Lichery wars, when their kingdom was still fresh. The House of Red refused to bow to the Lichery rebels, and for their effort were obliterated by magic and their skeletons raised up as examples. Remosians joined the side of the liches, and their warriors and nobles fought with great fear of their overlords. Remosians have many long lived magical traditions which date back to their time building the Havens, and thus their schools became breeding grounds for new cultish activity of the lichery rebels to exploit. The liches expected the Remosians to be loyal lapdogs to their designs, to seek their own freedom from the Curdans, only to find the liches were often no better if not considerably worse. The kingdom of Remosia and Denovia were devastated for generations by the hundreds of failed societal experiments by mad, immortal wizards who held little regard for them.
Yet, during the war, the Remosians learned a thing or two which made them question their fealty and seek out a form of freedom they had no thought possible. The Lichery wars did not dampen their mood on magic, and eventually in time the Remosians and Denovians would gain their freedom from the Curdans. The Lichery wars would ultimately set up future conflicts and expand their power in later years, especially during the Imperial War of Religion.
