I hate to sound Redditor af, But he's an absolute C-H-O-N-K.

That poor cat looks like kitty needs to be put on a diet.

Yeah, I asked that to the owner (the restaurant owner) told them about the dangers of being overweight and all the heart problem that come with it

Looks like the owner and customers all feed him. I did some volunteer work at a cat adoption center years ago. We had one big boy of about 29 pounds - a bit over 13kg that was turned into us - his elderly owner had passed away. Big grey cat named Hugo - soon dubbed Huge O. One little girl saw him at an adoption event and insisted she wanted him so he got a new home and the new owners were advised to check with a vet on a proper diet for the old big boy.

It makes me sick that the family didn't have a plan in place for the elderly's senior cat in place.

My grandmother has a cat and my family already has a plan in place for who is to get Mittens, and I'll be the one to get him.

May have been a case where there were no family in the area. Happens a lot where I live.

That is true but still, you would think that when next of kin are called to tell them what has happened you would think that they would know to ask about the cat.

Some of us have no next of kin and others have kin who just don't care.

Yeah and thus is the reason why we should have a plan in place.

I'm glad you told the owner about the cat's health. That deserves some major respect.
