ROMÂNEȘTEAtunci când vorbim de limbi latine, deseori uităm limba română și celelalte limbi de răsărit. Sunt pasionat de diversitatea lingvistică, și încântat de limba română. Limba asta și-arată istoria prin particularitățile sale: are influențe din limbile vecine, precum slavonă veche, turcă, greacă și maghiară, are graiuri distincte și dă acces la o istorie din Europa de răsărit puțin cunoscută în alte țări. În acest desen, am ales unul dintre animalele simboluri ale României, ursul, și castelul Bran, din Ardeal, pe care sigur mai mulț dintre voi îl cunoașteți. Ce limba va fi următoarea?
ENGLISHWhen we talk about Romance languages, we often forget Romanian and the other eastern languages. I love linguistic diversity, and I'm amazed by the Romanian language. This language shows its history through its peculiarities: it has influences from neighboring languages, such as Old Church Slavonic, Turkish, Greek and Hungarian, it has distinct accents and it gives access to a history from Eastern Europe few people know about. In this drawing, I chose one of the symbolic animals of Romania, the bear, and the Bran castle, which I'm sure many among you already know. What will be the next language?0
ESPERANTOKiam oni parolas pri latinaj lingvoj, oni ofte forgesas la rumanan kaj la aliajn orientajn lingvojn. Mi ege amas lingvan diversecon, kaj min ravas la rumana lingvo. Tiu lingvo montras sian historion tra la siaj malsamecoj: ĝi havas influencojn el najbaraj lingvoj, ekzemple malnovslava, greka kaj magjara, ĝi havas malsamajn parolmanierojn kaj oferas atingon por orienteŭropa historio, kion malmulte da homoj konas. En ĉi tiu desegnaĵo, mi elektis unu el simbolbestoj de Rumanio, la urso, kaj kastelon Branon, el Transilvanio, kion certe multe da vi konas jam. Kio estos la sekva lingvo?

I agree! Romanian is a very interesting language on many levels. To all the reasons mentioned above I would add also a common (possibly Dacian or Mysian) linguistic substatum with Albanian (words like bukur (beautiful) - bukuros (happy), mogull - mugur (both meaning sprout), moshë - moș (age - old age), which can possible tell us a lot about Albanians' origin...
Also I find it somehow fun that Slavic word for "teeth" was borrowed into Romanian as "zâmbesc" - "to smile" : D
