Yes, my friends, I'm posting a few more images of my new White Firebird guitar.
I'm posting this with all apologies to those of you who faved the previous pic of it. In my enthusiasm to share my new toy, I posted a badly-composed shot of it that I took at the band house when I decided that I wanted it. I'm putting that first submission in my scraps, so it'll still be around; I'm not deleting it.
Now, the band house is a warm, welcoming and very musical and creative place, but it's pretty much impossible to photograph a complete guitar there. It's a long, narrow room full of chairs, keyboards, mic stands, sheet music stands and guitar stands, a drum kit, amplifiers, a mixing board, cords and cables going every which way, several guitars and other instruments, and finally, all of us who have congregated at the band house on a given Saturday evening.
I can (usually) arrange a nicely detailed "headstock and amp" portrait without much trouble, but the entire guitar? No dice!
So, soon after I brought it home and did the usual New Toy ritual of plugging it in, turning it up and disturbing my neighbors with it, I took a few shots of it against a more simple backdrop; the oak floor in my living room.
Me: *being very careful*
"my new guitar is on the floor. I'm walking around it and crouching down. I don't want to scratch or BREAK it taking pictures of it. Put it back on the stand..."
