Just an Ordinary Eclipse? - 2nd Person Mimiga TF
A TF I wrote over on my Twitter which apparently could not be accessed by some people. So I'm posting it here so everyone has a way to access and read it if they wish.
Honestly a bit surprised at the lack of Mimiga TFs. Even if they were outside of my interests, I always thought they were perfect for TF shenanigans, what with their cute, simple design, and canonical TF elements. I mean... people love their successors, the Boss Monsters from Undertale and Deltarune, so it's always been a bit odd they've never seen much success. Maybe this might inspire some people to give them some attention again? We'll see.
You were outside, awaiting the soon to occur eclipse. The moon began to overlap the sun, the sky darkening, turning an orange hue, then black. But then... something unusual happened. The Moon seemed to stay locked in place, before turning a deep vibrant red, casting the area in scarlet hues. This was strange. You'd seen images of what the eclipse usually looked like online. But this one was... different.
Suddenly, you felt odd, a tingling feeling spreading across your exposed skin, almost like a sunburn, except instead of your skin turning red...er, the opposite seemed to be happening. It was turning... white? No... on closer inspection, it was... fur? Under the light of the eclipsed sun, your body was starting to change!
Everywhere the light seemed to touch seemed to transform, short yet incredibly soft white fur sprouting along your arms, coating your hands as they started to tingle, fingers fattening as they grew shorter. Though more attention catching was your head. Though you couldn't see the fur worming its way across your face, you could certainly feel it. It was like someone had just thrown a fluffy blanket on you. Through the tingling, you felt a slight pressure in your jaw and ears, as though someone was lightly tugging on them. And indeed, you could see your face slowly being pulled outwards!
Your nose turned black and leathery, becoming a triangle atop your forming snout, short and rounded, yet distinctly canine in appearance. Wait... were you becoming a werewolf? This wasn't exactly a normal occurrence, and you couldn't think of anything else that could be related to the moon or an eclipse...
As you questioned what was happening to you, you were snapped out of your thoughts by the feeling of your toes pressing tightly against your shoes, fumbling to quickly get them off, feeling a sense of relief as you managed to get your feet free of the offending footwear, just in time for them to suddenly explode outwards in size, toes fusing into three as pawpads sprouted underneath, your heel being raised up behind you, giving your new paws a digitigrade stance. The lack of claws, and more rabbit-like appearance of your new paws immediately threw out the idea of this being a werewolf transformation. Just what on earth were you becoming then? All the while, the scarlet light continued to rain down on you, seeping into your body, and eliciting further changes
Unbeknownst to you, the changes to your head had not paused while your attention was elsewhere. Your hair shriveled up under the crimson light, turning to stylized fluff reminiscent of what it had once been, as your ears started to lengthen. Longer and longer they grew as they flopped over either side of your head, becoming covered in the same soft white fur that was sprouting across the rest of your exposed body, looking more and more reminiscent of floppy rabbit ears with every moment.
It wasn't until your pants suddenly collapsed, unable to stay tight around your thinning waist, that you realized you'd been shrinking this entire time. In fact, you were almost the size of a child now, as the crimson light washed over your now exposed lower half, coating everything in that soft white fur, legs shortening down as they completely reshaped, completing the shift to digitigrade that your feet had started, and leaving you balancing precariously on your new paws, even as a short fluffy tail popped into existence behind you.
The changes seemed to slow down, giving you time to look over your body. You were some kind of small... dog... rabbit... thing? Your shirt was now practically a robe on your smaller frame too.
The light of the eclipse shone brighter than ever now. Perhaps because your glasses fell off your new muzzle sometime during your transformation. The scarlet light was almost hypnotic, beckoning your gaze up towards it. It seemed to shimmer and spiral, growing brighter and brighter, and then everything went red, before slowly fading to black...
When you came to, you found yourself staring up at a rocky ceiling, with nothing but the ambient sounds of flowing and splashing water. Sitting upright, you found yourself in some sort of cavern, a large lake sitting before you. Scrambling to the edge, you rushed to go check your reflection, though the white furred paws in the corner of your vision sank your hopes of that all having been a dream, and the head of a Mimiga staring back at you in the rippling water outright killed that prospect.
You stared at your reflection for so long, you failed to notice a second head appear next to your own until you felt a tap on your shoulder. Surprised, you leapt back, only to see another of your new species standing before you, dressed in a green vest, and a somewhat lax yet friendly looking expression plastered on their face "Woah woah! Calm down! I won't hurt you!" They would exclaim, waving their hands until they were certain you were no longer panicking.
"Hello there! I'm Toroko! I'm a Mimiga, like you! or, you are now."
"You must be super confused. But don't worry, you're safe here."
"Where are you? Well, this is the village reservoir. More generally, the island? I don't know any more than that sorry. Ever since the Doctor appeared and took over, so many strange things have started happening..."
"First the island started to rumble and start moving, then all those monsters started to show up everywhere, then Sue falling down here, and now all of you suddenly appeared!"
"I don't know exactly where all of you keep coming from, but... I don't think you'll be able to return. The Doctor has taken control of the island, and any Mimiga who leaves gets captured by his goons! Don't worry, we've got lots of rooms to spare in the village! I'll go tell the others about your arrival. I'll be back quick! I promise. Just stay there!"
It looked like you'd be living here a while, until you found your way back home... hopefully you found a way to turn back soon? As you stared down at your reflection in the lake, you spied a red flower growing near the water's edge. It looked oddly tasty... it's hue almost reminded you of the red glow of the eclipse that caused all of this. But that had to just be a coincidence, it was just a flower. what's the worst that could happen...?
