Not really a Thursday Prompt, but TP adjacent? This idea weirdly popped into my head after reading FtD's post but then Roidh just had to continue the shenanigans which fueled my imaginations flames. It's all Roidh's fault.

Hopefully I got all those links right. Anyway! This is my contribution with a silly story that may take some of you way back into past nostalgia! For once this would not be Shelby canon but just pure silliness lol.

Admittedly, I'm a bit conflicted with meeting Detective Steele again... In both Celtic's and Vixyy's contributions to the murder mystery prompt, it was Detective Steele that tried to drown me in the first place!
"Oh. Can I see under your hood?"
*Abruptly ceases walking and turns to Shelby. A gloved finger is directed toward the feline's nose.*
"Shelby? No."
An exceptional follow up to the ongoing goofiness that Roidh decided he wanted to start. Because it's all Roidh's fault!

"Woah. Hold on. You can't just say whiskey. What type of whiskey?" The arctic kitsune snapped his fingers and a bevy of bottles began to rise slowly from the floor. Each one took it's place floating if suspended by an invisible string. One by one, they took their place forming a solid wall over bottles. "Fortunately for you I happen to be a whiskey aficionado and I love tapping into my personal collection. I actually used to run a monthly tasting club. So, what type of whiskey would you like?" The fox said with a grin as his two tails wagged uncontrollably behind him.
Oh, and fun story. Try not to let that cat-like curiosity get too far under the hood. Might actually wind up dead.

"Nee... alright, I'll give it a try. You are the expert here after all."
That's a lot of whiskey bottles! I'd say Black Barrel has been my favorite inexpensive sipping whiskey, but lately I've been getting into smoked scotches and whiskeys, and really enjoying some of them. There's a local one I got recently that I really like, they smoke it with mesquite wood!
Anyway I'm no conesaur, but I do like a nice whiskey lol

Smokey scotch is so good... I used to actually curate a whiskey tasting club at my old workplace. Like I wouldn't go so far to say that I'm an expert, but I know enough. I've also been to Scotland twice to go touring around the distilleries (I'm mostly a scotch fan).
I definitely would call Jameson Black Barrel a great whiskey for it's price. To me though, an "inexpensive sipping whiskey" is about a $70 in my collection. The average price of most bottles I own is probably closer to $150 with some being worth over $1k. >.>
I might have an issue.
Also, smoked with mesquite wood sounds great. I'd love to try that.

Wow, so now we get to know that when FtD rescues someone, they travel back to this initial location where the party was. And I have to check these stories where the Detective was because I haven't read them, haha.
And now I really wonder if I should try writing one of these stories myself or not.
Also actually in my opinion it looks like a situation that canon Shelby could find herself in, lol. But I didn't read that many stories with Shelby anyways.
Welp, let's just hope that they won't try to look under his hood again when FtD manages to return everyone back there. Also: " the feline found herself falling through the doorway and sliding along the polished wooden floor on her stomach, arms out in front of her and feet up in the air" lol, this was unexpected but sounds so fun. I would do it too if I saw the floor allows that. xD

Seems I missed something very important in the TP history, never expected it breaking the fourth wall hah... And seems I'm gonna reread FtD's and Roidh's stories, I start forgetting all what's going on. But again facing the fact - having no idea about its backstory, still I'm highly impressed by the writing and the story hehe^^
