Now that I see the full picture, it almost looks like Blake is distracted while Hyena mechanic girl is up to something ... not very nice.
Good set up for a story - hyena gal is secretly in cahoots with the local raider gang. Deliberately sabotage the machine, then the raiders move in. In return, Hyena girl gets a cut of the loot.

Haha it's all good fun, I imagined they were joking/laughing about something that happened in the past, I tried to give the fox girl a distant look like he's remember while the other one is telling the story or evilly cackling about something they'd done, etc, but the way you put it also kinda fits!
