Had an idea for a way to do a toon gloves/ghost hands transformation but have it justified in universe and I am not disappointed.
Dies finds a pair of gloves on the ground and tries them on because hey why not yellow is kinda his color.
Of course they activate, causing his hands to grow and his fingers to fuse together. Bigger and bigger until he can't hold them up anymore. Dropping them to the ground with a deep shaking noise. Dies tries lifting them when they pop right off, leaving him staring in shock at the glowing rings that are his wrists.
