Thank goodness my Firebird guitar doesn't fit into the woodstove along with the rest of the firewood; I may never find it again...
Actually, it would be a bit difficult to miss it. The Yellow 'Bird ( yes, I've finally given this guitar a name ) contrasts very nicely against the firewood and the deck planking -- I like the diagonal / horizontal motif that's going on here.
I'll say it again: the Firebird is my favourite Gibson solidbody, and I love mine. It has the nice, light body of an SG, the substantial neck and playing action of a Les Paul, neck-through construction ( which sustains forever ), those fantastic mini-humbucker Firebird pickups, and a style that's unique among them all. In my opinion, Firebirds are superb and very underrated guitars.
That said, there's a difficulty with asymmetrical guitars like this; you can't just lean a Firebird against a wall or an amplifier like you can with, say, a Fender or an acoustic or hollowbody-style guitar. Firebirds are built crooked: they have a way of falling over and breaking their necks when they land.
Don't let that happen to your Firebird, my friends.
