Omg I love the hawk moth
the first time I saw them I really thought it was a hummingbird, but this couldn't be true
then I learned what it is and it's still one of my favorites

They're among my favourite lepidopterans as well; While I never confused one for a hummingbird (wrong continent), I did once had a brainfart and thought this is a weird bumblebee, before registering the differently-coloured front body.

Awww, this brings me back to my grandma's house. Every year, her snowberry bush would bear a bunch of clearwing moths (Hemaris sp).

Nice, the only ones I tend to see around are hummingbird hawkmoths (Macroglossum stellatarum).
