Aphrodite is a Salandit only slightly older than Kaida from the upper area Treasure town. Growing up Auntie Marie (Not actually her Aunt) didn't have any kids of her own so she would sometimes show up with gifts for Aphrodite. Aphrodite saw this as an absolute win being the only Salandit girl in town, and maybe when she was older she'd be given both her Mom's and Marie's Harems.

Then Kaida showed up...another Salandit Girl...or sort of. Her mother explained to Aphrodite that Kaida isn't biologically a girl Salandit, so she can't evolve and her pheromones will never be as strong as a Salazzle's. Aphrodite figured this meant Kaida wouldn't be a threat to her but she remained curious about the funny little Salandit.

Aphrodite eventually evolved into a Salazzle but her mother passed away and her father was presumed dead out at sea. Around this time Kaida also lost her mother Auntie Marie, so thinking this was the best option for both of them, Aphrodite confronted Kaida with a proposal; Kaida could join her harem and Aphrodite would take care of her from now on, even respecting Kaida's identity as a girl, but this would mean Aphrodite would now take control over Marie LaCroix property which had been left to Kaida.

Kaida rejected her offer declaring she would become a Salazzle too, and so their Rivalry was born! Aphrodite thought Kaida would just give up eventually, she would taunt her, and being the only Salazzle in town now the Salandits who used to serve Marie left Kaida to server her leaving Kaida alone in a big empty house she couldn't take care of by herself, but Kaida doubled down her stubbornness, made herself an outfit, took up her mother's rapier, and started going around declaring herself "Captain Kaida LaCroix, the Empress of Pirates!" Going around committing petty crimes and causing general mischief...admittedly Aphrodite found it kinda amusing, even admitting in her diary that she had a crush on Kaida, though couldn't let Kaida know since they were now Rivals and Kaida wouldn't go for her now anyway because she had started dating Morgan.

Also she got very annoyed when Kaida would break into her house and steal her panties

Then Kaida got her own ship, and Aphrodite was reminded of how she lost her father, so she doubled down on her teasing of Kaida to try to get her to stop, but it was too late, Kaida was too determined and stubborn to back down. She would sail off for months and each time Aphrodite thought that might be the last time she's sea Kaida, but she kept coming back...Then one day Kaida came back with her long lost Father alive...and she didn't feel like she could see Kaida as a rival anymore but would still tease and mess with her because it would be weird if they weren't still a little bitchy at each other like sisters.

Then on one of Kaida's adventures she left as a Salandit and returned as a Salazzle, and all Aphrodite had to say about that was "Good for you." Aphrodite may be the only Salazzle consistently in Treasure Town, but Kaida was out there doing what was thought to be impossible.
