The Main Spyro series went downhill fast after Year of the Dragon, though Enter the Dragonfly isn't the worst game in the series (that dubious honor belongs to Spyro Fusion/Orange). A Hero's Tail has some weird quirks but is somehow amazing, though I might feel that way mostly because I came in to it right after EtD. It's interesting how many things Shadow Legacy has in common with the Legend of Spyro trilogy (darker tone, emphasis on combat, purple dragons are special, big bad seems to be another dragon at first but is revealed to be an older purple dragon) but it's probably best forgotten.
