Lil Ursa
Ursa had a pretty rough childhood, her village was raided and eventually burned to the ground by Knights of the Capital. Her parents were slaughtered in front of her as she hid with her little brother, many of the warriors were overwhelmed by the sheer number of humans pouring in and the fires spreading left many cornered or trapped in the falling debris. The decimation was unreal, eventually groups of humans sifted through the debris and collected the young. Ursa attempted to run with her brother but tripped and was quickly caught. She did land a good swipe across a man's face, but was quickly knocked out and loaded with the others.
She stayed close with her brother but one day he was taken away like the others, one by one eventually she was the last one. Apparently they had a lot of trouble selling her off as she had a temperament problem and was a little too much for most. They considered killing her but the money she was worth was too much, of course the people handling her didn't think so.
She was finally acquired by a Noble and sent to a renowned tamer and trainer, where she'd be “broken”. The tamer looked like a scary man and was certainly strict and could be downright terrifying but deep down he was a kind person. (this dude has a cooked moral compass and lots of regrets lol.)

There's always been tension between beastmen and humans, what prompted this attack was the many complaints from the people in the capital, the theft of farm animals (not their fault as they hunt in the woods, a very prideful activity, hunting farm animals is seen as pathetic). What really set off the raid was the attack of a Duke leaving the Capital. Supposedly a rabid beastman attacked the horses and nearly everyone, the fleeing coachman was the sole survivor and reported the attack.
Ursa's father was the Chief of the village and everyone knew to stay away from the human, despite how weak one was alone the wrath of the collective was something to fear. He learned from his father and the history of the great war between the two, nearly wiped out the Leo Beastkins. As the human territory spread he grew weary of how close they were getting, but this land was sacred. There were attempts to make a formal connection with the Capital but it never panned out. It seems they were at a stand still and it stayed like that for many years.
