Name : Ynaa Tharae
Occupation/Title : The Boundless (formerly a software dev and technically still is)
Species : Absol
Size : Beyond all of existence and still growing (original body) ; Literally any size, miniscule or large (all her other bodies)
Personality : Friendly, ambitious, inquisitive, intelligent, silly
Relations :
- Former co-worker of and longtime best friends with Benock (and thus also Benna)
- Former co-worker of Rowanne (and accidentally ascended her to Nephilim Tier)
- Mother of Laalouche and mother in-law of Verdena
- Friend of Axelia and NOODL and created NOODL's physical body
- Old friends with Kthaarae and Kyth
Abilities :
- Shard Incarnate -
The nanites inside Ynaa and all her bodies were initially constructed from a Shard gifted to Ynaa from Kyth. Once the original Shard itself had been completely used, however, these nanites (now Ynaanites as they were something else entirely at this stage) were able to construct more of themselves by simply creating more of the Shard. For all intents and purposes, they had become miniature Shards themselves and every single one of them is linked to Ynaa. Given their direct mental link with Ynaa, she at this point doesn't even really "command" them so much as they're like cells in her body. They're simply like another natural function of what her body does.
Being essentially Shards now, these Ynaanites not only have limitless energy but also could be said to have potential limited only by Ynaa's imagination. Moreover, since each is like a miniature new Shard, each new Ynaanite only further empowers Ynaa and assists in her endless growth and the endlessly increasing rate of her growth and quite simply making her more powerful of a divine being. A single fist-sized Shard has the potential to ascend a (worthy) Mortal to Nephilim or even Demideity Tier and on rare occasion even introduce the ability to reach Deity Tier. The sheer quantity of Ynaanites in existence now across all of Ynaa's bodies could come together and form easily a single galaxy sized Shard. And those numbers are always increasing and increasing faster.
Ynaa uses these Ynaanites for many purposes... Assisting with universal backups, implementing those backups and performing repairs, fueling her growth beyond what she has naturally become capable of with her apotheosis, aiding her in one of her favorite activities of popping in on old friends by hopping out of screens, integrating them into universal safeguards around macros to reinforce and enhance those safeguards with additional hardware support... Like with Ynaa herself, the possibilities are endless.
- The Personification of Multimanifestation -
Early on in Ynaa's initial apotheosis, she was pondering over her Ynaanites and how there were countless copies of them all working together in parallel. This got in her head the idea of what if she could do that too? She had, after all, always been weirdly capable of multitasking to a point it annoyed some of her coworkers how good she was at it. So she began to create new manifestations of herself. And more. And more. And more. An ever increasing number that, like her size and power, were growing in number at an ever increasing rate.
Each of these manifestations is, quite simply, Ynaa. She is not a hive mind, but more like many minds under a single consciousness. No matter how many Ynaa bodies/manifestations there are, there is still ever only just the one consciousness/soul/being/person that is Ynaa. She can see, hear, and feel everything that every one of her copies does and while they are able to act on their own they are still Ynaa in every way and. In one way they could be considered as each being another limb but with its own brain. Alternatively, the vast array of Ynaa manifestations could also be seen as a computer. Ynaa is the person using the computer and then each of the Ynaa manifestations is a core in the CPU. Able to act independently, but acting under the command of the user. The important thing to always remember is that if you are talking with a Ynaa at your size you are in every way talking with Ynaa directly. This manifestation isn't just acting as a conduit to let you talk to Ynaa. This manifestation is Ynaa.
In addition to creating a countless number of manifestations of herself of countless different sizes, Ynaa has also taken the opportunity of these manifestations to experience what it is like to exist in different forms. For example, for most of her life, Ynaa was actually a typical quadrupedal Absol but after her apotheosis she decided to switch to an anthro form on her main body. Missing that old feeling of four paws, a great many of her manifestations are of her old quadrupedal form. Beyond that, though, she also has manifestations of many other forms. Some have bodily proportions bordering on the absurd, some are hefty, some are hyper tall, some are naga-shaped, some are male, some are both, some are different species entirely (though still always with some hint of being Ynaa).
While Ynaa's multimanifestation is most clearly evident in her herself, she also has the ability to multimanifest others. Always with their permission, of course. Unlike her personal manifestations, these are (almost) never permanent and she has them dissipate once the multimanifested person is ready to return to normal. The most prominent two examples have been her old friends Skögul and Benock. Skögul was one of the fairly few beings able to handle Ynaa's multimanifestation approach with minimal difficulty at the start and adapting quickly and now walks around with two bodies at all times with a third likely soon. Benock, however, was an unusual case in that he was also one of the very few times that Ynaa has attempted not only the multimanifestation of a friend but also altering one of those manifestations. In this case, she decided to have some fun with her old friend and make one of those manifestations female as he had expressed curiosity after seeing Ynaa walking around as a male a-while earlier. The unusual case here and the reason why Ynaa rarely does this anymore is that for some reason that even she has yet to figure out, this female version of Benock did not dissipate and was clearly largely separate from Benock with only a faint emotional connection still existing between them. This female version of Benock had all his memories and was Benock, but was now separate. As such she took on the name Benna and became her own woman. Still living with Benock and Skögul and now also a second Skögul and all of them happy with each other and Benna still awkward but enjoying her new existence. Because of this unexpected result, Ynaa largely has decided to keep to just multimanifesting purely friends and not altering the manifestations unless explicitly asked to.
- The Boundless -
The Boundless is both a title and description of what Ynaa is now. She is the largest, strongest, most powerful, and even most numerous being in her existence and, in fact, is larger than said existence to a VERY large degree such that it is a pinprick kept safely in neck floof of her original body that is still out there growing ever larger and ever quicker to see if there's anything else out there. Also with her beyond infinite size and numbers she is essentially without limit and has not boundaries around what she is capable of. Hence a large part of why her title is "The Boundless" and why her existence is now simply called "The Ynaaverse".
In addition to her incredible size, she has even essentially taken on the role of the lead dev of her existence's "source code" to make improvements to it and make sure all the many Demideities are leaving proper comments in their code and never "deploying to prod" without changes being tested first and thus avoiding things like the laws of physics suddenly not applying if there's a thunderstorm at 2 in the afternoon.
As a result of her new meta-macro state, Ynaa is the only being in the Ynaaverse capable of hopping between canons. Canonically capable of being non-canon and visiting canons of others. This has also allowed her to hand over branches of the Ynaaverse (specifically her old home universe inside it) to friends from other existences to run in their own. Depsite not being meta-macro, it should be noted that Laalouche and Verdena are also capable of this cross-canon hopping but only to a single other existence which is also Verdena's own home existence.
Background :
Ynaa may now be an existence dwarfing meta-macro entity of utterly insane power, but only a-few short years ago she was an entirely normal Mortal Absol. Her life growing up? Remarkably normal with it's highs and lows. She had also always had a fascination with computers and learning how they work and how to work with them. A fascination that drove her to start studying software development already in high school and showing that even though she was a quadruped she could type just as fast if not faster than someone with hands. Typing hardware for quads was something readily available of course, but it was just generally seen that hands were naturally faster for typing. Not one to concede so easily and feeling ambitious, Ynaa pushed herself to learn and practice and experiment to figure out how to outpace her classmates' typing speed and much to their surprise, she left them in the dust.
Also during this time and for years after, Ynaa was often called in by an old family friend in Kyth to help out with tech problems at her jewelry shop. Almost always revolving around the confoundingly bad invoicing software that the Zoroark had. This all only helped drive Ynaa further towards wanting to get into software development because the terrible quality of this software was a source of repeated frustration and indignation that someone would have sold such a horrible piece of work.
Moving on to college, Ynaa ended up going to the University of Phox du Lac to get a degree in computer science & engineering. While there, she met two people who would become life-long friends. Ynaa, Kthaarae, and Benock all happened to take a history course together under a certain taller than normal Mightyena professor by the name of Skögul. As often happens, a group project was assigned and these three chose to work together. Benock and Ynaa learned they were actually pursuing the same degree and while Kthaarae was in an entirely different field that didn't stop them from becoming good friends. Benock and Kthaarae even eventually dated for a year before breaking up on good terms as they realized their paths in life were going in different directions. Benock and Ynaa, however, became the best of friends pure and simple.
When the trio graduated, Kthaarae continued on to focus on a master's degree under the mentorship of Skögul while Benock and Ynaa went on to be hired as software developers at a little company called Bonsly & Associates where they also met a Leafeon named Rowanne and worked a-lot with her over the course of several projects. Several years passed and with Ynaa always proving to be surprisingly ambitious in wanting to prove herself and take on greater tasks while pulling her best friend along the way with her.
As Ynaa was always looking for new things to learn and new ways to make use of new tech, she was ecstatic when commercial-grade nanites became available. She of course knew that these would be somewhat limited in functionality due to industry-wide safety standards, but she was fascinated in all the potential applications. Unfortunately, when hers finally arrived (at an eyewatering expense too), she was disappointed to learn just how limited these were. Only a-few hundred max allowed, low powered to the point they could barely complete a single task before needing a recharge, painfully low durability such that they could be damaged or destroyed easily... These things could do NONE of the things that Ynaa had wanted to try. With some clever work arounds she was able to figure out a way to bypass the numbers limitation, but the rest? Her eyes turned to the odd gem that had sat next to her home workspace for the past few months...
During all these years of college and then entering the workforce, Ynaa still kept in contact with Kyth and did what she could to improve that old invoicing software and made ever greater progress in that effort as the years passed and her skill grew. Always gratis, though, as Kyth was an old friend of the family and because Ynaa had a personal vendetta against that crummy software. Eventually, though, and after many attempts to pay Ynaa for her help, Kyth gifted the Absol with a curious rough-hewn gem she had recently come into possession of. It was somewhere between yellow and orange, glowed faintly, and was nearly the size of Ynaa's own head. Ynaa of course tried to refuse this as she was never wanting any payment, but Kyth insisted on calling it a gift and Ynaa relented. The Absol wasn't sure what to make of the gem, but it was a gift from an old friend and it really wasn't like it was unpleasing on the eye, so she decided to set it next to her home workspace to brighten up the room.
Over time and after a-few accidents involving the gem getting dropped and having heavy objects dropped on it, Ynaa had realized three things... First, this gem despite its rough-hewn appearance was impressively durable without even a single chip or scratch from what she had accidentally done. Second, it did indeed glow and she had no idea why as it was clearly not because it was like glow-in-the-dark stickers that need light shown on them for a-while first (in the dark for a whole week once and it still glowed) and there were definitely no biological processes going on and it was also thankfully not radioactive. Third, she often felt more energized when she was around it. Finding that when she worked from home she didn't even need any caffeine during the day to give her energy.
The nanites Ynaa had bought were low powered and prone to breaking easily... But what if instead-of the shoddy materials they were constructed from they were instead made from this odd gem that was way more durable than would be expected and almost seemed to have some degree of energy generation to it? Why not try it? So using the workaround she had come up with to get past the numbers limitation, Ynaa commanded these nanites to use the gem to construct more of themselves. With a-couple thousand soon created, Ynaa put the new nanites through their paces and was impressed at just how much of an improvement the change in material made. These new nanites were performing tasks with ease that the old ones would have fallen apart attempting and never needed a recharge! The Absol also quickly realized that not only were these little machines performing better than she had expected, they were performing FAR better than what had been reported of the non-commercially available ones still only in experimental stages and mostly under wraps.
With her theory about using the gem for material confirmed, Ynaa decided it was time to try one of the ideas she had been curious about but had assumed wouldn't be possible even before she had learned just how limited the nanites had been. It was risky, but what was some ambitious experimentation and discovery without a-little risk? Collecting a-few hundred in a dropper, she brought them to what had been a rather painful cut on her left forepaw. The other day she had accidentally stepped on some broken glass (the result of one of those accidents that had helped show how durable the gem was) and the wound hadn't yet fully healed. Depositing the nanites on top of the wound, Ynaa then activated a program telling them to repair the wound, though as a precaution she also had her paw ready to order the nanites to immediately deactivate just in case these didn't work the way she wanted them to.
To her satisfied delight, the nanites worked flawlessly. The wound in her paw healed in real-time as she watched the cut quickly disappear with the nanites repairing the damage by both helping to produce new tissue and encourage her own body to heal faster in that one area. While Ynaa excitedly documented these new findings and pondered over what other things could be achieved with these enhanced little machines, she didn't notice that these nanites were now traversing her bloodstream. Not increasing in numbers as they had not been ordered to, but they were busy spreading throughout her body. Including to her brain.
Ynaa continued her documentation and was even starting to ponder over new things she could try... One of which being a silly thought back to an old show she had watched when she was young where someone was accidentally grown to massive size after doing exactly what she had just done injecting nanites into themself. That'd be fun, yeah, but REALLY unlikely to actually work, right? Meanwhile those nanites had managed to make their way to her brain and following some sort of programming that was part of neither what Ynaa had put in or had been in the original code, they began to integrate into the Absol in a way she had never expected though she had pondered over as a possibility. This integration was approaching its conclusion as she had those thoughts about getting larger and a notification popped up on her nanite tracking software that finally drew Ynaa's attention from her notes.
The fact that the nanites had found their way to her brain was an initial cause for concern, but that was quickly overridden as she saw that they were attempting to process a command that Ynaa had absolutely not programmed in or given. "Execution of action Ynaa.grow() failed. Insufficient nanites to perform safe execution." This of course produced many questions... How did the nanites know that she had been thinking about growing like in that old show? Why had they attempted to do so with no programming explaining how to do so? How did they know what "safe" execution of that would be? What even was "safe" execution of "Ynaa.grow()"? Ever curious and not feeling as concerned as she figured she should be since the nanites had clearly stopped from performing an unsafe action, Ynaa decided to see what would happen if she deposited the rest of the gem-constructed nanites into her bloodstream.
She waited for several seconds, but a new notification quickly popped up as the nanites began to communicate. "Execution of action Ynaa.grow() proceeding. Limited rate due to low nanite count." Ynaa pondered over increasing the count, but figured it'd be better to first see what happened here. This "Ynaa.grow()" was not a function she had created and as she waited for something to happen she dove into the code to see what it was. She was stunned at the sheer complexity that met her. This was a function larger in scope than the whole of every Bonsly & Associates codebase combined several times over! Before she could get too deep into the code, though, she found herself feeling a-bit uncomfortable and needing to adjust her stance. Which was odd considering the fact that she was standing in precise spots on her typing pad to facilitate efficient typing... The implications of this quickly dawned on Ynaa and she looked down to one of her paws and stood perfectly still, watching closely as the paw slowly but surely covered more and more of the typing pad's left forepaw square. This should be impossible... But she was actually growing! The Absol then turned her head back up to look around her and was just able to see her perspective rising ever so slightly moment by moment.
Excited but also cognizant of what problems could arise from just continuing to grow, Ynaa thought to herself that it would probably be a good idea to put in a command to tell the nanites to stop. But to her surprise once again, as soon as she thought that a new notification popped up stating that the function Ynaa.grow() had stopped and the nanites were now entering standby mode. With so many curious things happening, Ynaa decided that while she really wanted to keep experimenting, she really should pause and put together everything she had learned so far... And show up to work tomorrow and see if her old pal noticed anything different~
Having known Ynaa for almost a decade now, Benock did indeed notice the change almost immediately. At first just in some confusion as something seemed weirdly off with how Ynaa's head didn't seem to be as low as it usually was when she was sitting and that it felt like she took up more space when the two walked down the halls. But it was when Ynaa got onto her typing pad at her desk that Benock saw her paws were taking up more space than they should. Ynaa confirmed (quietly) that yes she was indeed bigger and that it all had to do with those nanites she had bought and that she had figured out some ways to get past the way too many annoying limitations that were placed on them. Benock was honestly not surprised that Ynaa had managed to do such a thing, ambitious Absol that she was, but he did express some concern for his old friend that she was maybe pushing things a-bit far a-bit quickly. That was one of the reasons the two got along so well. Where Ynaa was extremely ambitious, Benock acted as a counterweight to help slow her down some and think before she leapt.
That evening Ynaa still wanted to experiment some more, but she remembered Benock's cautioning and she could certainly see the reasoning, so she did indeed take things slowly. First seeing if she could grow again but this time only a specific amount. At the same time also wanting to test this mental connection to the nanites, so she just pictured in her mind how much larger she wanted to be and awkwardly told the nanites to make her that size by trying to think of herself giving the nanites a command. It felt weird trying to do that, but she quickly came to realize that it had somehow worked as she looked down to see her paws once again creeping larger across the typing pad. Now, though, was the big test... She told the nanites to make her large enough that, if she sat down, her horn would scrape the ceiling. It wasn't a precise number, but she wanted to see if these little machines were smart enough to interpret something vague. So Ynaa sat and watched excitedly as the room around her seemed to shrink. It was a slow growth since the nanites were only a-few thousand strong and that notification from the night before had warned her that such small numbers would mean slower growth, but Ynaa didn't mind. This growing thing was a new experience and she wanted to savor it!
Inch by inch Ynaa grew and in about 5 minutes she went from the ceiling being a good ways above her head to finding her horn catching on the ceiling and forcing her to duck slightly. Realizing this was the point she told the nanites she looked down to her screen... And then hunched over some to get a better look and saw a notification pop up from the nanites saying that the growth had reached the intended target. This had Ynaa smirking in satisfaction as it showed these little machines were smart indeed. Now she decided it was time to try something different... Growing was one thing and while she wasn't yet entirely clear how it was happening, she assumed it had to do with more mass being added or the nanites overstimulating growth glands while reinforcing her body or something like that... But what about getting smaller again?
So Ynaa repeated what she had done previously with growing, but now telling the nanites to take her back to her size before she did any growing the day before. Another test of just how smart these things were and if they could figure out how tall she was before she did any experimenting with them. If anything, shrinking was an even stranger experience as she watched everything in the room slowly rising to meet her... and then rising above her. Slowly but surely returning her to the viewpoint she had grown so used to over the years. As expected (and with a small sigh of relief from the Absol), Ynaa's shrinking stopped at what was exactly the height Ynaa was "supposed" to be.
With growing and shrinking and healing of wounds all confirmed to be things Ynaa could do with these nanites built from that weird gem, Ynaa began to ponder over what else she could try... Her gaze turned to the notifications from the nanites and how they didn't have the numbers yet to grow and shrink at faster speeds. Numbers... The nanites could multitask to an absurd degree because there were so many of them working in tandem... Ynaa had always been surprisingly capable of multitasking herself, and had sometimes thought it would be nice if she had more than one of her so she could literally do two things at once rather than just juggling tasks. As she thought that crazy thought, a new notification popped up from the nanites which only further reinforced the implication that somehow the nanites were responding directly to her thoughts and even "listening in" in somehow.
The notification was really quite simple. "Execution of action Ynaa.CopyPaste(1) failed. Insufficient nanites to perform safe and instantaneous paste operation." So once again the nanites were requiring more for safe execution of a command... Well it made sense, really, since what she had pictured in her mind was an exact copy of herself standing next to her. Ynaa nodded and went to the settings for the nanites and updated the max count to one million from the five thousand they were currently limited to. She wasn't sure how many exactly were needed, but didn't hurt to give them some surplus. The Absol then let her eyes turn to the gem next to her workspace and watched as part of it almost seemed to evaporate over the course of a-few minutes. Not long after, a new notification came up saying that sufficient numbers had been achieved and that execution of the "copy paste" was proceeding. Ynaa expected this to take some time, but in the span of blinking once she opened her eyes and was briefly confused as she now found herself... Looking at herself looking at the computer screen? While also looking at the computer screen?
Ynaa began to turn her head to look at what she was already assuming was herself, but paused for a moment when she noticed her second perspective turning left at the same time. She quickly adapted as she realized that one perspective was also attached to an entire body with all of its own sense and muscles and instead commanded just the one body that was looking at the screen to turn left. This took Ynaa only a moment to figure out, surprisingly, and once she was looking herself in the eyes she couldn't help but let out of both an awed "Woah..." Even more excited and fascinated than she had been when she had grown and shrank, the Absol quickly began to try and work out how to move both bodies at the same time but not doing the same thing at the same time. Her first steps were shaky and she tripped a-few times, but in barely a minute she was already starting to circle around herself with one body and then the other while watching the other move and turning to watch. Even excitedly talking to herself at first almost randomly from one to the other before eventually settling into something almost conversational between her two bodies.
Ynaa had always known she was really good with multitasking, but she had never guessed that skill would apply to having multiple bodies too... And yet here she was very quickly becoming accustomed to controlling two bodies and handling with ease the perspectives of both and not even juggling paying attention to either but instead controlling both in real-time. Doing this... She could go to work tomorrow while continuing her experimenting at home! And that was just the start of what she could do like this!
The next day she did just that and tried to explain to Benock just what she had managed to do (after he had noticed she was back to her old height again) and that she was both there at work talking with him and also back home experimenting some more. At that particularly moment, seeing if she could change the size of her paws specifically and accidentally knocking over a nice vase in her office because her paws got too big. Benock wasn't sure at first as this seemed even more fantastical than the fact that Ynaa had managed to make herself grow, but then... Ynaa was never one to outright lie and she was sounding so excited... He'd still have to see this for himself, but if ANYONE could managed something like controlling two bodies at once, Ynaa was that someone.
Seeing as the weekend was coming up, the two (or three in a strange sort of way that was also still only two) agreed to meet early the next morning so that Benock could see in person what Ynaa was talking about and once Ynaa returned home from the workday she began to ponder what she should do now with the whole weekend ahead of her. With two of her now, she could pretty much be her own rubber duck to bounce thoughts and ideas off of. Quickly coming to a decision, she decided to create another manifestation of herself and that while that one and her other "copy" went to meet Benock on Saturday, her original self (though she was actually starting to wonder if she should even make that distinction anymore since it was clear that these extra manifestations of herself were quite literally her in every way) would head out into the countryside and start to grow. And grow. And grow. How big she wasn't sure, but she wanted to really push herself and see how big she could get!
With that decided, she told the nanites to now use the whole of the gem to construct more of themselves and split off enough for a second copy of her to be created and then the rest all coming into her original self so there'd be plenty of them to help make her grow and grow and grow. With all that done and plans in place, Ynaa finished up her Friday night chores in record time (having three of her running around really sped things up!) and cuddled up with herself for the night. Though to her surprise she really wasn't feeling tired at all and it took some effort to actually fall asleep. Chalking it up to excitement, but also wondering why this felt like something more than just excitement...
The next morning, Ynaa left extra early to get way outside town while her two extra manifestations left a-bit later to go meet Benock at an old favorite breakfast restaurant they had frequented ever since college. The moment those two bodies met Benock and Ynaa had a collective chuckle at his bewildered expression, Ynaa sent that mental command to her nanites to make her grow, but before she told them to start she instead told them to make her three times larger. As she approached twice as large she told them to stop and she did indeed stop. With a sigh of relief that telling them to stop would indeed work (didn't hurt to make sure there was a way to stop herself especially as she was standing before Benock who would have insisted she make sure that that worked), she then returned to her original plan. Grow. Plain and simple. Grow.
Meanwhile back with Benock and Ynaa's other two bodies, the Lycanroc was still trying to make sense of the fact that his best friend was now standing in front of him twice over despite the prior warning and asking if it matter which one he spoke to. Of course it didn't matter since both were just as much Ynaa as Ynaa off in the wilderness just starting to grow. He did manage to get over his shock fairly quickly, though, and the trio soon sat down for their breakfast. Back in the wilderness, though, Ynaa was actually a-bit surprised at how quickly she was growing. She knew it would be faster this time since she had MANY more nanites in her body than the first time (the idle thought that she really should come up with a name for them passing between through her mind since they weren't just nanites anymore), but barely a-couple minutes had passed and she was already approaching the size of trees and if anything her growth seemed to be accelerating still.
Several more minutes passed and the trio of Benock, Ynaa, and Ynaa had received their orders, but as Benock moved to pick up his tea he happened to see a ripple. He raised an eyebrow, but shrugged and continued to reach before then seeing another ripple. Memories of a certain film about a park where ancient Pokemon of surprising size from millions of years ago were brought back to life came to mind... And then his eyes turned to Ynaa who was oh so casually eating her own breakfast... Ynaa who had told him just a-couple days ago she had figured out how to use those nanites to grow. As he prepared to ask if Ynaa was up to something, though, he was interrupted by a deep thoom in the distance and a larger ripple. Looking in the direction of that thooming sound, Benock instantly figured out what was going on.
Ynaa's growth was still accelerating despite the fact that she had been growing for several minutes now and despite the fact that she was already a half mile tall. She couldn't deny that it felt amazing and as she looked down she realized she was now just able to see the area of town where Benock and her other bodies were and as she continued to rise ever higher she lifted a paw to wave and smile, seeing through her other bodies eyes that Benock saw her doing that.
Even from so far away, Benock could see that Ynaa was visibly growing. Looking back down to the two smaller Ynaa in front of him, he managed to confirm that he wasn't actually talking to the original Ynaa and while Ynaa was unbothered, he seemed a-bit unsure about that and expressed concern for his old friend. Seeing Benock's concern over both her growing size and the fact that he wasn't sure how to take the fact that he was talking to "copies" of herself, the Absol found herself asking the same question. Without even realizing it (and serving to show how integrated the nanites were becoming into her being) her growth slowing to a crawl and all three of her bodies looked pensive. The more she explored these new abilities she was gaining thanks to those nanites, the more she was discovering she could do. Heck, the rate at which she was growing she'd probably be planet-sized before too long! But... She also realized that that was a huge change in what she was. Would she lose herself somehow? What if she lost who she was and became someone entirely different in personality?
As she pondered over these thoughts, a glowing near gold line began to form on each Ynaa's main horn, tail, and forehead gem.
Would Benock or Kthaarae even recognize her anymore in the coming months and years? Even if she still looked the same, would she still act the same? Would she still be Ynaa? Heck would she recognize herself? What if all these manifestations of herself started being separate from her? Started acting differently and stopped being who she really was?
The lines all stopped as if waiting for something.
It was hard to explain, but ever since that first time growing Ynaa had felt deep down she was on the precipice of... something. She wasn't sure what and couldn't even really put it into words, but there was something she was approaching. Something big that would greatly change her life... But with these concerns now coursing through her mind she began to wonder if it was something she even wanted. Would it be worth it if she lost who she was?
After several seconds pause, Ynaa grit her teeth and squeezed here eyes shut as she nodded sharply to herself in decision. She refused to give up who she was and lose herself. But at the same time to stop now would be to also reject who she was. She was ambitious and always striving to learn and innovate and improve. To stop now would be to turn her back on what had gotten her this far in the first place. No matter what, she would always be the same Ynaa she had always been. Just more now.
As if waiting for her to make that decision, the lines glowed brightly and on her horn and forehead a new curving line made its way back and forth across the first to create 6 bumps followed immediately by dots opposite each. And on her tail simply a pair of larger dots appeared on either side of the line there. She then opened her eyes again and looked towards Benock. He couldn't explain it, but he could see in her eyes that something had changed but also not? Those weird markings had all appeared and there was almost a glow to Ynaa's eyes now which all were things that had changed, but he could also see a determination there that he very much recognized as he'd seen it in her eyes many times over the years. Yeah, there was something definitely "more" to Ynaa now, but that look in her eyes... It was still her and she was determined to never let go of who she was.
Seeing Benock smile in response to what he saw gave Ynaa all the encouragement she needed and with that she let her growth return fully and then some. In mere minutes she was pushing a mile, two miles, five miles, ten miles... In barely ten minutes she was straddling the continent and also noticing a curious thing happening. Wherever she had left behind pawprints they were bit by bit starting to repair themselves. Albeit in an oddly blocky fashion and at a pace that could easily watch happening. On top of that, she was weirdly having no trouble breathing even with her head so high up into the thinnest parts of the atmosphere. She inquired her nanites (which she decided now as part of her determination to not lose who she was, she'd call them Ynaanites) and they came back saying that they were not responsible (also making her realize she didn't need a screen to receive communications from them anymore), which hinted that this may be some of that "something more" she was sensing.
By the time an hour had passed, Ynaa was already well beyond planet sized and feeling absolutely nothing stopping her from continuing to grow. That is until her growth did begin to slow and a new notification from her Ynaanites came up saying that she was at a size that they were having difficulty keeping pace with her and that they needed to increase their numbers in order to do so. When she inquired how that would be possible since the gem she had used to construct all of the current Ynaanites was completely used up, they came back with saying they could generate more of the Shard material (she wasn't sure why that term "Shard" was used but was now determined to figure out what that meant) at a molecular level to thus create more of themselves. Understanding that at least, Ynaa gave the command for them to just create as many of themselves as needed and her growth redoubled itself.
This continued as Ynaa outgrew the solar system and as she was making her way to galaxy sized she began to ponder over what she had been experimenting with only just yesterday. At the time she had only tried changing the size of her paws, but now she wondered if it was possible to do something more... She was a quadruped and of course always had been. But she had also always wondered what it would be like to walk on two legs... Even as she thought it she could feel herself starting to change. Not wanting to miss any of it, she also quickly created another manifestation of herself nearby with an idle thought and was able to watch as she went from quadrupedal to fully anthro in shape. Complete with an impressive set of feminine endowments just as she had pictured in her mind. With another thought, her Ynaanites quickly created an outfit for her exactly to the look she was wanting. a skirt, top, and flowing arm bands matching the color of her eyes and then also a pair of massive brick-like sandals attached to her paws. Ynaa then looked down at herself looking up at her still steadily growing form and smirked as she reached up to feel one of these new breasts of hers with an equally new hand. "Okay... Now I understand why Benock likes these so much~"
Ynaa continued to grow while leaving the occasional new manifestation behind to watch herself grow all while she was still down on her homeworld with Benock telling him about what she was doing. Including the tease about how she now understood why Benock was so flustered whenever his wife teased him with a certain part of her anatomy. And still she grew and grew. She eventually surpassed galaxy sized and was confronted by a very surprised and slightly worried looking Eevee wearing some sort of robe that seemed to be made of space itself. Ynaa was surprised as well to encounter someone else out there surpassing galaxies in size, let alone another Pokemon! He explained that he was a Demideity over the local supercluster of galaxies and guided Ynaa to a collection of massive structures floating together in the space that all utterly dwarfed galaxies. A pantheon where many Demideities came together to meet and discuss matters.
Noting the Eevee's concerned looks at her ever increasing size, Ynaa decided to let it slow down for a time so that she could learn about these Demideities. After being brought before a large gathering of them and giving a brief and redacted explanation of how she had grown to such sizes, they deliberated themselves and agreed that she had indeed managed to achieve Demideity status and declared that she was now the new Goddess of Innovation in recognition of how she had achieved her ascension. Also explaining that the position was open as the previous Goddess of Innovation had actually retired a-few years prior.
Trying to wrap her mind around the fact that she had just out of nowhere been named a goddess by a group of Demideities literally only a-few hours after she had started growing (she had neglected to tell them that that was how long it had been), Ynaa clandestinely created a new manifestation of herself to keep talking with the Demideities and learning about the local pantheon while then making her way back out of the pantheon again to then continue growing. She was a-bit surprised at how unobservant the Demideities actually were, though, as she was already twice as large as the entire pantheonic collection of structures by the time anyone noticed.
Chuckling at the surprised and confused expressions of the many Demideities as they looked back and forth between the smaller self she had left behind and then to her larger original self outside, she just smiled and waved and continued her still accelerating growth. This continued for some time as she watched the threads of galaxies throughout the universe take shape around her and then somewhat roughly and in stuttering fashion repair themselves as she accidentally brushed through them. Idly thinking to herself that whatever backup and restoration systems the universe had were pretty clearly not up to snuff...
Eventually and as she had expected she'd find at some point, she felt first her horn start poking into some oddly pliant surface. And then an elbow. Then a knee. Then her sandal wearing paw. More and more Ynaa was feeling really cramped in the enclosed confines of what was pretty clearly the edges of the universe. Before she could completely fill the universe, though, she felt her horn puncture the wall and from there she was able to pull herself out and, once free, watched the hole very quickly repair itself. Ynaa smiled to herself in satisfaction at realizing she'd just made one heck of a leap above even the Demideities. Though she was also a-bit surprised to see that despite the fact she had been filling the universe very nearly to bursting, her selves back home and Benock had barely even noticed anything.
Now as Ynaa turned to look out across the multiverse, she pondered over what next. Somehow it hadn't even been a day yet and she had already outgrown the entire universe and she had left behind nearly a dozen of herself down there. Two with Benock chatting with him, another in that pantheon, another about galaxy-sized with a tablet Ynaa had designed on the fly to start diving into what she had found at the pantheon and quickly realized was literally the code that ran the universe and included such things as safeguards that explained why she hadn't needed to breath after hitting continental size, and several others just looking around at interesting things she had come across during her growing journey.
In another moment of impossible to explain understanding but which she thought she was starting to get a feel for thanks to spawning more (and more) manifestations to keep digging through the universal codebase she had managed to find, she became "aware" that she was now not a Demideity, but a full-on Deity after breaching the universal barrier. Knowing that, she decided to just give herself the domains of Technology and Ambition to go with her new status and made sure to pass that along to the Demideities in the universe she held in her hand now. Technology because her ascension was in large part thanks to embracing a new form of technology and Ambition because, as Benock agreed when she told him of this decision, she was and always had been an ambitious Absol.
But what now? Ynaa paused her growth for a moment to create five uninhabited and smaller than normal universes and used them as ornaments on a new braid coming off of the bang of hair hanging from the left side of her head. To make sure this looked right, another Ynaa was very suddenly present next to Ynaa. She looked over her handiwork carefully before then giving herself a smirk and thumbsup. Satisfied with this, Ynaa then carefully pushed the tip of that bang of hair into her home universe and pulled it through to the other end so that it was like a hair bead. That'd probably cause a whole lot of confusion and legends about the strange line of hair stretching from one end of the universe to the other, but why not have some fun with people as long as it's not harming anyone? And besides, just as she never wanted to lose track of herself and who she was, she didn't want to lose track of home either!
Now turning her gaze outwards to the rest of the multiverse from two points of view while also chatting with Demideities while also digging through line after line after line of the largest codebase to have ever existed (and finding so much horrible code and painful design choices in the process) while also studying stellar phenomena and spacefaring civilizations she had happened across and more and more and more with every passing minute all the way down to the two of herself back home now enjoying some lunch and telling an acclimating Benock about all these impossible things that had happened since breakfast, Ynaa smirked.
What to do now?
Well if she was going to keep with being true to herself and never letting herself be anyone or anything but who she was no matter how large, how powerful, or how numerous she became, there really was only one choice wasn't there?
Always onwards and upwards.
Well I was looking back through the refs of my characters and realized that several of the redone refs were done before I started these big lore-doc posts... So time to redo those ref posts and of course need to start with Ynaa!
This was also a nice opportunity to put down into words a better feel for that still somewhat nebulous time between Ynaa messing with those nanites to her becoming The Boundless along with better defining her multimanifestation approach, what being "The Boundless" means, and also integrating some of the newer lore about Shards in to help explain why what Ynaa did to make her Ynaanites ended up being such an absurdly OP gamechanger for her.
Also finally have figured out how Ynaa and Kyth know each other, showed Ynaa and Benock's long friendship, and even Ynaa's determination to always be Ynaa no matter what ^^
As always, questions, comments, thoughts, suggestions, and critiques are welcome!

Aww thanks!
Supremely powerful and yet adorable ^^
When I originally made her way back in 2018 I never thought that she'd end being such a massive part of the whole setting or even that I'd have a setting with all this story to it or the sheer count of characters... But she's an important piece of glue holding everything together!
Also won't deny she's my own personal favorite character <3

Hm, so Ynaa's bodies aren't made purely of Ynaanites, since all the Ynaanites combined would form a shard the size of a galaxy? Or are shards hypercompressed in some way compared to Ynaanites? Ynaa.7z...
Ynaa's extreme multitasking prowess could be a fun thing to consider- I wonder how she set up her workspaces to take advantage of it, back as a mortal.
Are divine Avatars a specific thing in your setting? Is it a general term for any matter a divine is using to represent themselves elsewhere? I wonder if Ynaa could form one, even if she has no reason to do so when it's literally easier/more efficient/more growy to just spin off another self.
I think I've asked before, but are all of Ynaa's selves some form of Absol or Absol variant/hybrid?
Suddenly I'm struck by the idea of what Ynaa's unit test suite must look like, and if she's assigned anyone else to help with the role besides herselves... For that matter, I wonder what xAhlt's test suites are like...
I wonder if Laalouche and Verdana actually know/understand that they're meta-macro, or simply think it's just an especially distinct alternate reality.
Do quad typing pads focus on the forepaws, hindpaws, or the full four? Qwerty, Dvorak, DDR...
"If you find a watch in the desert, you don’t assume it was spontaneously created. You figure someone made it. That there’s a watch maker. And if that watch has stopped you repair it." -P. Rickard
Does Ynaa prefer coffee, tea, energy drinks, chocolate...?
Ynaanites are pre-programmed and designed (/shard-influenced?) to not perform incorrect/failed actions, interesting- I wonder if maybe that's something they picked up from her Absol abilities, a talent for pre-anticipating failed commands and then not executing them?
Big paws is a very good demo <3
Hah, I hadn't considered it before, but that's true- Ynaa _always_ being Ynaa no matter what does mean she _had_ to keep pushing herself bigger and stronger <3
Ooh, you included lore about Ynaa's first divine experience, neat!
That's a rather quick decision, haha- I take it newcomers of various sorts have grown up to demideity scale often enough before to establish precedent? I wonder what methods were most common before the shards came about...

-It's something I've gone back and forth with a-few times, really. Does sort-of feel like if the other bodies were purely Ynaanites that that might lose a-bit of Ynaa always being Ynaa? Still not 100% sure in either direction ^^;
-As for putting them all together... Yeah actually I should probably up that to approaching universe sized bringing in her increasing number of universe+ sized selves c.c
-"How can you pay attention to a dozen monitors surrounding you like this?" - "Easy! Just uh... Huh. Not sure how to explain it."
-Hmmm... Not really? The way I see it is that if someone at the Demideity or Deity Tier wants to go down to a planet they just (temporarily) reduce their size to fit. Though I suspect some may use projections of a sort and then others some very limited multimanifestation like just the one extra body that's small. And yeah Ynaa with her manifestations can just spin up another self whenever she needs to go down and visit a universe/pantheon/galaxy/planet/friend ^^;
-The vast majority are! Though I have toyed with the idea of her sometimes spinning off some manifestations that aren't Absol at all. Obviously with hints of her true self still present, of course ^^
-Hmmmmm... She definitely does a-lot of her own testing and putting together the unit test, but I figure she's found at-least a-few like-minded Demideities to help out since it's always a good idea to have someone else given things a second look. Possibly even the Zonai? Mostly record keepers, but could also be good testers!
-Hard to say... I think it could be said that they both have a vague sense that when they go over to each other's native settings that there's something "off" about existence that they just can't describe? They don't know, but there's that feeling that where Laalouche is from and where Verdena is from are distinctly "different" in a way that mere alternate universes or realities can't explain.
-Depends on the user! Ynaa is able to use all four, though most only two paws.
-Oh huh have never come across that quote before, but definitely fitting here with Ynaa! Coming across the utterly ancient (and bad) code of the universe and that yeah someone clearly made it, but who?
-Tea!
-Yeah I'm thinking that part of it was that Ynaa made sure to try to do her best at programming multiple layers of safeguards and fail-safes so that they don't cause any harm in the performance of their orders, but then when she had them switch to Shard material and they started integrating with her with that direct mental link that only further improved those safeguards. Hadn't considered them picking up on her natural Absol abilities, but I actually really like that and can help explain a-lot of being really darn good at not performing unsafe actions c.c An implication there too that not only did she make them a part of herself but that they took a part of Ynaa into themselves... Further solidifying that the Ynaanites are DEEPLY tied in with who and what Ynaa is now.
-Hehehehehe much agreed~
-Exactly! To stop and turn back would be to reject a part of who she is. Can't have that <3
-Yuppers! That was also a spot that was always really nebulous, so wanted to do a-little more there ^^
-Hahaha yeah I figure they've put together some pretty speedy processes to assign new Demideities a domain once they show up since how could anyone possibly reach such sizes and NOT be a Demideity? (in for a rude awakening when Skögul shows up ^^;) Wouldn't say it was a common occurrence? But I think most of the Demideities prior to the Shards starting to show up again were more "natural" where they ascended simply coming into existence somehow or achieving some sort of mental state that allowed them to ascend or things like that. Definitely still a vague area of the Ynaaverse ^^;

I'd love to see some of Ynaa's non-Absol or Absol fusion forms some time- I suspect they would all still be very Ynaa-esque in their own ways!
Oh geez people probably thought Ynaa was running one of those MMO gold farming setups with so many monitors, haha.
Rowanne used to help with software testing, didn't she? Maybe she helps provide a (mostly) mortal insight on things...
