Oxnard wrote this very fun story for Star Day 2025. He also made this artwork of Yosh in a Tiny Ones Transport Service (T.O.T.S.) uniform awhile back, too. I thought sharing these would be a fun way to officially close out what made my 45th birthday extra special.
Pip and Freddy were helping out at the nursery today! K.C. had a lot on her hands, but the penguin and bird duo were always happy to lend a wing!
“You two featherballs can watch the two new birds over there, let me know if you need anything!” The short gray koala girl waved as she rushed to the other side of the nursery to calm down some chaotic babies.
“Don't worry K.C., it'll be snow problem!” Pip the penguin smiled as he waddled on over to a pair of diapered birdies. One was a teal little nuthatch named Celeste, she was a bit shy but fairly behaved, which meant she'd be easier for Pip and Freddy to keep an eye on as K.C. The koala handled the chaotic ones.
Next to her was a rotund little owl! He was covered in vanilla-colored feathers, and went by the name Owlnard. He had beady little eyes behind his big glasses, and a little peach-colored beak. His cheeks each had two little black marks that looked like whiskers on his face.
Pip used his Flypad to pick up all the details on both baby birdies, “Aww, here are the babies we get to look after today, Freddy!” The short penguin turned to his tall pink flamingo partner.
“D'awww, aren't they the most adora-worable birdy-wirdies?” The flamingo reached down, the purple tips of his pink wings brushing under both babies' little beaks.
“I'd say we're all pretty cute here, Fredamingo.” Pip winked up at his long-necked friend, blushing a little bit as he tried flirting with his delivery partner.
“Ohhhh Pip, you're cutesy-wutesy too!” The big flamingo wrapped his wings around his penguin pal, lifting him up, swinging him around side to side. “I could just hug you and love you allllllll daaaaaay loooooong~”
Pip blushed even more, wiggling his short little penguin legs and feet around. “F-Freddy!” He giggled, nuzzling their cheeks together. “B-but we have to watch the babies today...”
Freddy suddenly snapped out of his affectionate cuddling, “Oh, right!” He smiled casually as if nothing happened and put Pip back on the ground. “I'll stay totally focused on these two! Even though you're a lot of fun to watch too, Pip.”
Freddy quickly scooped up both babies, nuzzling their cheeks together before turning around to look at the chaotic scene K.C. was dealing with.
A new hybrid baby arrived in the nursery today! She was covered in yellow ducky feathers, despite being half-dino! Not only did her green ducky brother sneak on over to T.O.T.S. to meet his sister early, but two of his friends did too! An orange dino of some kind that kept tugging off his buddy's diaper, and a chubby hamster that kept tugging off everyone else's! A lot of the little ones were running around in just their fur and feathers, and K.C. made it her mission to try and re-clothe each one, but she could barely keep up with or catch the duo working together to turn her work place into a nudist resort!
“Huh.” Freddy stared in bewilderment, glad he didn't have to deal with K.C.'s predicament. “Welp! At least you two are well-behaved, and safe in our wings!”
“Uhh, Freddy?” Pip sounded a little worried as he pointed up at the two birds he was holding, one boy and one girl, which became even more obvious with how their garments mysteriously vanished! The two little birdies blushed and looked at each other, as Freddy caught onto the situation.
“Oh! Looks like their clothes turned invisible, how cool! I didn't know nuthatches and owls could do that.” Freddy looked between the two in amazement.
“They can't, Freddy. I think their diapers got stolen! But don't worry, I'll go fetch them another pair.” Pip smiled as he turned around and belly-slid on over to the diaper containers.
Freddy reassured the two birdies in his wings as they gave a little shiver. “No need to be embarrassed you two – Pip and I don't wear pants either! Heck, I don't think any of the birds here wear pants...” he looked down between his own tall yellow legs, as if noticing it for the first time.
“Not for long!” Pip announced as he slid back, with a diaper in each wing. “I've got two of the softest, fluffiest, coziest diapers for our two new birdy buddies!” Pip cheered as he waddled over to pad up the pair.
“Uhh Pip, where's your shirt?” Freddy tilted his head, playfully covering Celeste's eyes to shield her view from the raw, untamed aura, of an adorable shirtless and pantless male penguin.
“Ahh!” Pip looked down, before turning around. While K.C.'s hands were being held by the green and yellow duckling-dino duo as they spun her in circles, the hamster hurrying around the nursery was using Pip's unbuttoned baby-blue shirt as a cape!
“One moment.” Pip announced, dropping the diapers in place, sliding away for a second to nab his shirt, and return to his friend clothed again. “There we go!”
“Uhh Pip?” Freddy looked down at his poor penguin buddy, as Celeste and Owlnard giggled at the silly penguin.
Pip looked down with a confused, “Wha?” as he saw his shirt was still gone, but he'd somehow come back with a diaper around his waist instead! But, looking back at all the chaos, Pip didn't think there was a good way to get his usual outfit back again. “Well! At least it's something,” he smiled and shrugged, as he and Freddy each took one of the little hatchlings and laid them down to pad their bare birdy butts!
“Okay Celeste, what color diaper do you want~?” Freddy held up her options in his flamingo wings, “Pink or purple?”
The bare little nuthatch, with her feathery teal-colored wing, pointed up at the purple diaper Freddy was holding. “Pah! Pah!”
“Pah-ple? Okee dokee!” The flamingo giggled and handed the other diaper for Pip to use for Owlnard. “Guess the owl-wowly gets the cutesy-wutesy pink diaper!”
Pip blushed and took the pink diaper, fitting it onto Owlnard's more plump and round owl bottom, as the nerdy bird laid down spread out for the penguin! “Hoo...”
“There we go!” Freddy cheered, taping up the pink diaper around Celeste's yellow-feathered belly before scooping her up in a hug. “All better.” The little nuthatch wiggled her wings happily.
As Pip and Freddy held the babies they were helping with, they looked over at their koala friend, who had all four little ones on top of her – it didn't look like she was winning this battle!
“K.C.? Do you need any help?” Pip asked from across the room. The four tots on top of her stopped and looked at the penguin-flamingo duo.
“I got this, don't you featherballs worry about me!” K.C. wrapped her arms around two of them, “It's gonna take way more babies to slow down this koala! You two just go ahead with your deliveries today!”
The hamster, along with his dino and duckling buddies, kept their eyes on Pip and Freddy, and as the hamster snapped his fingers, all four started rushing towards them!
“Run while you caaaaaaan~!” K.C. whined as they all hopped off her body, and darted towards Pip and Freddy.
“Let's get out of here!” Pip squeaked as he hopped on Freddy's back. He grabbed Celeste and held both babies in his wings so Freddy could fly them off to safety! The flamingo flew up high and out of reach of the chaotic toddlers below, and successfully left the nursery!
“Whew, I don't know how K.C. does it!” Freddy gasped.
Pip agreed, “Well, luckily little Celeste and Owlnard here are both very behaved babies! Their forever families are going to be snow lucky to have such behaved birdies with them. Guess we got a double-delivery today, Fredamingo!”
The two prepared the babies for delivery, doing what storks do best (but as a flamingo and penguin instead!) Freddy was carrying the whole trio on his feathery pink backside as they headed to the little ones' new homes, “I'm all ready here, let's flamin-GO!”
And so, the behaved birdies made it safely to their new homes, while K.C. had a little adventure of her own, re-diapering everyone in the nursery. But as Pip and Freddy dropped off Celeste, Freddy noticed one silly detail they'd completely forgotten to fix. Luckily Celeste's papa was polite enough not to point it out, but as Pip walked back to Freddy, the flamingo and owl on his back couldn't help but giggle.
Freddy chuckled, “Uhh, Pip, I think we forgot to tell you, you still have that diaper on!”
Pip looked down at himself as their little owl laughed too! He heard the door close behind him, meaning Celeste's dad just got their baby birdy delivered by another diaper bird! Pip just looked down and shook his head, “...This is snow embarrassing...”
And with that, the diaper penguin hopped on Freddy's back to complete their deliveries for today! Even if it meant delivering while in diapers, there was snow way Pip was getting his clothes back...
