UPDATE 7/6
Punkin wasn't improving from her medications so we made the absolutely incredibly difficult decision to let her go. She passed quietly and peacefully in my arms
if you have any ability to continue to share and even donate, please consider. Between her treatments costing $8117.84 and a previous balance from vet visits on CareCredit, the total amount owed is around $15,785.09

thanks again for all the well wishes, prayers, emotional and financial support <3 Remember to hold your loved ones close and spend quality time together~
My furbaby, Punkin was hospitalized yesterday morning on the 4th because she didn't want to eat, threw up her breakfast, she was breathing shallow and quick, and was clearly in general pain. The emergency vet visit revealed early pancreatitis and her kidney values were elevated. The doctor reviewed her xrays and everything appeared normal and she wasn't too concerned, so they administered fluids, gave her an antibiotic shot and sent her home with some pain meds. After work, I noticed she still wasn't feeling good and seemed to be getting worse, so we went back to the emergency vet that night. She was still breathing rapidly and in pain, but she was now sticking her neck out and they agreed that we should leave her overnight. This morning they called and said her abdomen is softer and she was in less pain, however new xrays showed issues with her lungs. They suspect her heart is having a difficult time with the fluids they administered, so they've placed her on a diuretic and she's in an oxygen chamber right now. Lungs show possible pneumonia, maybe from asperating something, or even pulmonary fibrosis.
Currently the cost for yesterday and today is $5,539 and it's rising. The doctors are doing everything they can, as am I. If you could spare anything at all to help cover her cost of treatments, I'll be forever grateful. She's my life

Punkin responded ok to a round of steroids and epinephrine yesterday evening, however they were still unable to take her off oxygen overnight. She's currently receiving another round of steroids and epinephrine and we’ll take it from there depending on how she responds. Thank you everyone who's supported financially, emotionally and even shared to get the word out. Punkin is my daughter and we're all fighting as hard as we can for her
Cost so far is $6885.21 and rising.
Emergency CPR is an additional $1000 to $1500

I've seen lots of small dogs live to 16, so here's hoping!
Have had one cat live that long thus far as well.
She was born indoors but had the instincts of an alley cat, getting into any human food left unattended!
I suspect that might be part of why she lived so long... She was a character!

My deepest condolences, Toots. Just recently, I lost a furbaby too, so I know the pain all to closely of what you're going through. I wish I could help, but I am just not able. I will share this message though in hopes that someone is able to pick up where I am unable to.
