He can't be too much of a loser. He's got a doctorate and is a professor of biology. I can't speak much about his family life as I don't really have enough details about it, but given his age, I'm not entirely surprised he decided to go down the traditional path of heterosexual marriage instead of coming out. Unfortunately, family isn't always understanding of that dilemma. Sometimes they don't want to be. Poor guy. I confess I would find him very distracting as a student as he is in many ways a composite of my fantasy man!
