Reference sheet I cooked up for a character I've had in my name for a long long time now... The premise is that she's a slave working under Arabic merchants around the 9th century (800 CE) traveling along the routes of the silk road. Mostly carrying goods such as muslin wool and linen, frankincense, perfumes and select specialty items like the artisan walking canes you see in the picture. She is originally from the Judean Desert and her family was one of the first to adopt Christianity, some short time after the crucifixion of Jesus. Tamar is very secretive of her faith and struggles with her belief, gritting her teeth while she follows the tenets of Islam to prevent herself from getting stoned to death. She is named Tamar after Ishmael's mother, representing the hard life and strife her parents knew she was going to face, but with the chance of redemption . . . I dunno something like that. I'm not sure if I'll use her for much since her design is so complex but I think the plot I've placed her in is intriguing
