"He's turning blue!"
"It's changing again!" Melon cried in delight as his chewing got even faster, the tender taste of roast beef fading on his tongue and being replaced by a new, much sweeter flavor.
"That would be the dessert course," Wonka said to the rest of the tour group, "it's a shame the gum machine only produced a single stick rather than the batch I was hoping it would, the entire thing is simply to die for... Apologies that not everyone gets to try it."
"Blueberry pie! With some ice cream on the side!" Melon said again with a big smile on his face. "This is incredible stuff!"
The crowd's silence, however, was deafening.
"...On second thought," Wonka muttered under his breath, "maybe it's for the best only one person chewed it..."
"Hey, what's happening to his face...?"
"His face? Look at his belly!"
Melon looked out at the crowd in confusion, only met with an array of confused to concerned looks. "What? What's everyone staring at...?"
As he kept chewing away, Melon's entire muzzle had been coated in a vivid blue hue, and it was steadily spreading across the rest of his face. At the same time, the area surrounding his belly button, which was on full display due to the gecko's wardrobe never fitting him properly to begin with, was also being stained the same purplish blue. Before long, even the tips of his fingers had begun to change, as well.
"His face is turning blue...!"
"What're you talking-... about...?" Melon trailed off as he reached a hand up to his face, only then catching a glimpse of his now fully blue forearm. An ominous, loud gurgle rumbled from his large belly as he grunted in discomfort, feeling a lot more full.
"Is he... Growing...?
"He's definitely blowing up."
Sure enough, Melon's belly had begun to balloon outward...
