Oh definitely, I did art trades with friends and our ocs made cameos in each other's comics, we drew adopts and sold commissions for 10 cents because we were just doing it for the love of the game
my friend and I traded the same $15 back and forth for like 5 years lmao
I'm still on DA, I'm mostly using it as organized art storage lol
but it's still pretty active, I have a couple friends on there who still interact with my posts.
But FA is so vibrant and active in comparison, it's crazy
Did you ever fill these kinds of things out?

You're amazing! ^^
Remember to pace yourself and to raise your rates as your needs require if its burning you out.
I'm sure everyone appreciates ya for trying to keep your prices super low, but you've got something special with your style. Would love to see you taken care of and loving life while you do this for a long time to come. <3

Thank you so much ; v;
sighhhh I knooooow
it's so weird though being on the precipice of being like
the *GOOD* artist
(Like I know what my stuff is worth but you know what I mean, there's like... intermediate, and then an elite tier)
I like the intermediate level if I'm being honest, it's less pressure to excel and I can just have fun with it. Plus higher prices usually means more professionalism and I'll need to like... become an official business with government paperwork and a website and stuff??
(I'm still not raking in enough to catch the attention of the government, but once they do notice I think it'll kill me ^_^")
but I think it is definitely the next step
ugh that sounds like such a headache, I really just love talking to people and drawing their little guys, even if I am living paycheck to paycheck
The fact that my existence is crowd funded at all is CRAAAZY I'm so so so grateful for it

Perhaps that's a sign that you're going too fast still! your mind and body want the speed of a small artist, but your taxes require those of a big one. If it's sustainable to be, as you put it, "intermediate", i think it's worth to invest some time in becoming stabily intermediate. Use commissions to experiment and mess around like you're doing. I feel like the "elite" group you're talking about are artists that have found that one subject they enjoy drawing and are willing to draw a lot of. (consistency is good for algorithms like instagram, or jobs like those for game development. so a lot of artists will specialize rather than branch out) .
i think it's also worth noting that your strongest suit is expressing characters and exploring how they interact with one another. you're really skillful in that. So perhaps that's a point you could focus on and hone in.
But I'm not there yet myself, so I'm not an authority on the matter. Not in the slightest x3
