Impromptu Volleyball
"BHUUUURRRRP!" Rings suddenly let out a massive, embarrassing belch, making his cheeks burn a bright red.
"Sheesh, that's the kind of stuff I'd expect from Melon," teased the lithe deer, "but not from you, Rings." Arthur snickered and gave Melon's large belly a nudge. "Well, I guess you arent wrong," Melon replied.
Rings, however, was too focused on the sudden overwhelming feeling of bloat that overcame him from the moment he'd finished that soda. "Urf... W-what was in that- urpf! -drink...?!"
"Weeell..." Melon gave a slightly teasing smirk. "...we DID say we needed a new volleyball for the match, and we figured you'd make for a good replacement for the time being!"
Before Rings could ask what on earth the massive lizard meant by that, his belly let out an ominous gurgle. Stifling another belch, Rings looked down at his slim middle just in time to watch it slowly start to round out. He put a hand to it, whimpering as his furry blue belly pushed against his paw. An experimental push against it made the pressure spike and threaten to send another burp out his mouth.
"Sorry," Arthur piped up, "we drew straws. You're the first volleyball."
"You drew straws with- urrrrp...! -without me?!"
"Relaaax, it's just for a couple games." Melon approached and gave Rings' belly a poke, noting how the rest of the fox's body had begun to balloon; his chest had grown slightly more puffy, his butt beginning to balloon behind him as his fluffy tail swayed back and forth in embarrassment. By now, there was a barely audible 'hissssss', like a balloon being pumped up.
"H-how is this even- BUUURP! -h-happening?! What did you do?!" Rings demanded as his cheeks began to grow a little puffier, his swim trunks tightening around his thighs.
"I struck up a little bit of conversation with the beachside restaurant and had them go reeeeaaal hard on the carbonation in that soda," Arthur explained, pointing out the can Rings had drank from, "the benefits of having such a high follower count, I'd say!"
Rings dropped the emptied can, holding his gut with both his hands and rubbing across it. His arms and his legs began to grow thicker as his middle grew rounder, his rear ballooning further while his cheeks puffed up more. "I-I feel like a blimp..." By now, quite a few of the beachgoers had begun to pay attention to the inflating fox, whose body was now emitting a constant hiss of air filling him up from within. He anxiously waddled in place, his wide legs making it difficult to move much beyond awkward, wide steps. His arms became stiff from how puffy they'd become, meaning he couldn't do much outside of wave his arms about in a windmill motion, but even that was getting difficult.
"He's coming along real well, don't you think?" Arthur asked, standing behind Rings and putting a hand to his belly.
"Absolutely," Melon said as he stood in front of the ballooning Rings, his own massive red gut pushed into Rings'. "He's already looking more like the big one around here than me!"
Indeed, Rings had now eclipsed Melon in terms of sheer size. He had grown taller in addition to wider, his rounded middle becoming almost perfectly spherical as his arms and legs started losing all definition, merely a set of domes on the outside of a massive rounded body with his hands and feet uselessly wriggling about on their ends.
"G-guys, this- UUUURRRRP! OUUURP! t-this isn't funny!" Rings pleaded, yelping as he felt his groin touch the ground and lift his feet. "I-I can't move!"
"It's not a prank or anything," Melon said as he gave the massive fox's belly a rub, listening to the subtle creaks that began to come from his hide, "Like I said, we just needed a volleyball! You're making for quite the good one, too."
"And it's just for a few games. We'l take turns." Arthur gave Rings' body a couple of pats, listening to the hollow reverberations like a drum. "You'll have aaaall the time in the world to do the same to us."
With that, Rings felt a little more at ease, though no less humiliated as his arms and legs fully vanished, his hands and feet sinking into a few subtle divots upon his rounded body. Even his puffy-cheeked face was sinking slightly into himself, what once were his shoulders pushing into those massive cheeks.
Finally, his inflation came to a halt, leaving a giant balloon of a fox subtly teetering back and forth upon the sands of the beach.
"Alright! We have our volleyball!" Arthur cheered, pushing his hands into Rings' side. "I'll serve, you head over to the other side of the court!"
As soon as Melon got to the other side and set up, Arthur lifted up the light-as-a-feather fox and bopped him into the air, sending him sailing over the net.
All Rings was able to say throughout the game was a series of burps and belches that rang out all across the beach. This here is a marvelous piece commissioned by one of my best friends,
