Nexa is a friendly hive mind. Unfortunately because of her biology she accidentally assimilates people from time to time. She reproduces through spores. Spores typically grow into pods that gestate into drones. Unless the neural network is weak, then they will grow into a brain shroom. Both shrooms and drones constantly shed more spores. Drones give off a phenomenon that compels other species to mate with them. Once that happens they are infected with a virus that integrates them into the hive mind, giving Nexa all their memories and knowledge.

Nexa's biggest fear is that if all her shrooms are destroyed her persona will be erased and replaced with a new persona that might be more aggressive and territorial. Nexa is not the first hive mind, nor will she be the last.
