Hello,
As Avatar Fire and Ash premiered,
Angellsview3 was kind to make this wholesome picture of my Milena and her human rider together. The big girl became a fan of pets so like in cat fashion, he'll be there for a while :D Thank you,
Angellsview3 for beautiful picture like this, love it <3
As for the movie itself, lil review.
You actually should take in consideration this was originally 1 movie that was split during production because they realized there was too little space for character development, worldbuilding, setups, and payoffs. So A LOT of Avatar 3 was done when Avatar 2 was released. So this is a direct continuation, so you are expected to know what happened in Avatar 2. It also explains some repetitions in the movie.
Anyway.
I came back from watching this movie in IMAX 3D yesterday.. Wow, what an amazing ride it was. It made me actually smile when I saw a girl next to me having Na'vi cosplay - she wore long ears, kuru and her dress was in more Na'vi-like accents. The room was packed full of people.
It was better than Avatar 2. It gave payoffs to character arcs and setups from the 2nd movie. The soundtrack was better, more impactful, I feel. 3h and 17 mintues and I did not feel like it was that long.
I liked how the movie portrayed anger and grief, how it destroys a person from the inside if they are left alone. It showed that a family may be powerful together - it'd never be easy, but worth it.
Varang and Quartich were amazing together, and I could see the actors having a blast acting together. Quartich made me and the viewers laugh a few times in the cinema.
Jake and Neytiri's character arcs and their emotional change - chef kiss. That scene when she finally changes her heart and rushes after the 2 other main characters was so well made.
Even the kids had more agenda, but some plot points from the second movie were repeated. Spider, Kiri and Lo'ak go through massive character arcs that are paid off in this movie. Tuk is not revelant unfortuantely, perhaps in Avatar 4 when she's older would have more to do.
Oh boy, it was a joy to watch aerial combat. Sa'ata is the best girl (who knows then knows), and I'm glad the movie makers gave Ikrans the respect they deserve as creatures Na'vi bond with for life, and they return the affection back. There are some scenes with Ikrans I felt they are right there in front of me, within hand's reach.
All the action scenes and wide shots were done well. IMAX 3D really made me feel I'm there and see the characters in front of me. Sometimes high framerate changes were noticeable, but I got used to it.
I could see the repetition of plot points and a bit of chaotic jumping from one pov to another. It made me wonder if making fewer characters would have made the switch pov more elegant.
I was disappointed I got blueballed by the ending, I expected more OR better setups for Avatar 4 as the movie gave us nothing on that front.
All in all, fully recommend watching it.
We will likely visit Earth in Avatar 4 and 5, as the writers have implied that Neytiri will see the state of Earth in Avatar 4.

might actually have to contact them. i have some ideas for colors, but the pattern is proving difficult to decide on.
i dont want it to become an artists nightmare while still staying recognizable.
actually might need some help on deciding on colors too now that i think about that...
anyways, thanks for the artist recommendations

lovely review and beautiful Ikran!
I have too many OC's but an Ikran is high on my list to make, love em soooo much.
I really want to see the new movie but im nervous, I havent watched the second film because of the scene of the rda slowly horribly killing animals :/ But ive read as much as i could to follow along. Is there any really awful things in the new movie like that?

Thank you :D
It's worth it, find the coloration you like and go for it! Moonski and Angellsview3 love these creatures so they may be up for drawing them.
Watching Avatar 2 is a must to understand what happens in Avatar 3. The newest movie expects you to know the previous one; you'd feel lost if you didn't see it. It's one story split to 2 movies.
The Tulkun's hunting scene can be skipped in Avatar 2 if you don't like watching that (quick forward skipping). Some of them took casulties in Avatar 3 but you don't have that very detailed sequence of whale hunting.

Okay! Thank you so much for the response x3 i can handle grief and sad story tones, just not drawn out animal death.
Like the Avatar game had me messed up for like 3 entire days due to that one scene :c I probably should skip the whale hunting scene, im sure there would be details id miss from just reading through things.
Im very tempted! I wish there was more artists that drew them too haha i like angel and moonski alot but im really only able to get a commission with them like once a year due to forms/draws etc. Lol

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora game tackles that topic quite a lot. RDA has been experimenting on animals to control or tame them in a quite brutal fashion. They cut their kurus so the animals became truly feral and extremely aggressive; later developed some attachable devices. RDA doesn't want to tame them the peaceful way; rather, they expect results immediately.
It's said Pandora's animals are shipped back to Earth to zoos and to bring stock to the animal trading black market.
I'm sure humans would tame some of Pandora's creatures eventually but they'd have to be respectful to them. A viperwolf is a good example because it's literally... a wolf. So what we know about dogs, should apply to them, to some degree.
