The Scarf Thing and seven hot dogs.
I love small details, call-backs and blink it and you miss it things in movies and series. Some more I noticed over the years:

First the reason the butcher think Balto stole the sausages…besides them ensnaring his legs and Steele’s ancestors are Pointers is that at the start of the movie Balto steal a goose from the butcher- namely Boris. This is why there is no doubt he stole the sausages from the humans side.

Second: I never saw it until a reviewer pointed it out: In the hospital basement scene after Jenna runs out and Steele comes in and she start to push him toward the boiler to burn him- it is a blink and you´ll miss it thing. Jenna hoist her scarf down like a girl going “off-the-shoulder” exposing more skin.

Third: when Steele comes back to the boiler-room after scratching the trees to mislead his former teammates, he says: “...Well...one by one, fell frozen...barely alive. I pulled four onto the sled. Three more, on my back!” then he does a quick count on his paw. He is not checking for injuries- he counts….because they are seven dogs on the team. Steele, Star, Nikki, Kaltag and three more: seven in total. So unless he means the musher too but Doc ask “What about the others” – probably meaning the other dogs.
