"As a travelling fella, you hear many kinds of songs from all kinds of folks, whether they be me own kind, or a fella with more legs than I can count. Lemme play you one I learnt from my days of travelling across Dirt Dunes."First doodle for the new year, and what better way than doing a Roach who has a love for playing the violin for folks! They're so well versed at playing, they even fixed up their prothoracic legs to be better suited at bowing across the strings to play a fine tune. The sounds coming from the strings are so distinct that you almost feel as if they aren't anything like you've heard before! >>wOo
This also is my first time doing a Cockroach character, an anatomy that is actually rather easy to work with, but still visually appealing to me and feels great to work with. Roach anthro designs I have always kind of loved, there is a variety of ways you can do them and just something about their features I always find cute. I think my biggest inspiration for them has gotta be Gregorsa from the YouTube series "Human-B-Gone", but I also used references while looking over FA to get just a general idea of how to get things doodled down for the first time. The track "Bellport" from the game "Isopod" was what gave me the idea for the whole music-playing part (If you listen to the track, you probably can tell what grabbed me from that song. ;;P), though I wanted to include more music-playing bugs here, but it was practically at the time I wanted to get to sleep, so I had to do the one roach. Maybe I will come back to this to add more to this buggy crew! ::3
Either way, I am very happy to have gotten this fella doodled, proud to also have accomplished my first doodle of the year, especially on the second day! I wanna hope to keep this energy going, and get way more frequent with my drawing over the course of this year. Let's hope for the best for this spider! <3 ^^w^^
