I guess Kahadrin are now technically a hermaphroditic race divided into two "sexes" if you can even call them that idek there's two separate forms but both are capable of getting pregnant. Ceylon's "sex" is technically what we'd think of as "male" despite them being the ones that produce eggs. The smaller, more "female" form actually makes whatever passes for sperm (I guess maybe pollen because Kahadrin are sort of planty oops). Typically the smaller form is the one that carries the offspring but the larger form is capable of it too.

They are hermaphroditic amazon space sea horses okay.

There's a third form created via early-development de-sexing, but that's another story.

As for how you refer to them it varies from individual to individual. I can only speak from Cey's perspective as she's the only one I have any sort of interaction with. On a whole I'm not sure on their pronouns and how they refer to themselves. I use "she" (occasionally "he") for ease because my brain is hardly working as it is and I haven't had any better suggestions.

Cey has never had any issues with people calling her by female or male pronouns. She's also fine with they/their/them. She REALLY DOES NOT LIKE terms like hir/shi because they have a lot of negative connotations to her. She doesn't care if you use them however; whatever floats your boat.

Cey is part lower-caste Kahadrin, which is what accounts for her sheer size and bulk. Her albinism is what resulted in her being down-cast and almost culled. Fortunately she had a guardian angel tree who was also albino and wanted a friend, so pulled some strings to have baby Cey saved.

Unfortunately this means her cohabiting symbiotic tree-buddy (a specialised form of plant that lives symbiotically in Kahadrin and function as an almost secondary personality) is also albino and therefore cannot photosynthesise properly. So she (her name is Val/Valkyrie/no I don't have a clue why either) has to vampirise almost all of her resources from Cey. This means that Cey herself has a freakishly hectic metabolism to not only maintain her body but also the wanna-be queen plant buddy. Fortunately Ceylon is the least fussy eater in existence and will try anything at least once :|

I think that's all I can think of for now; Verge is still very much in progress and I have no idea how much more work needs to be done other than IT IS A LOT.
