TurboVNC
High-speed, 3D-friendly, TightVNC-compatible remote desktop software
TurboVNC is a high-performance, enterprise-quality version of VNC based on TightVNC, TigerVNC, and X.org. It contains a variant of Tight encoding that is tuned for maximum performance and compression with 3D applications (VirtualGL), video, and other image-intensive workloads. TurboVNC, in combination with VirtualGL, provides a complete solution for remotely displaying 3D applications with interactive performance. TurboVNC's high-speed encoding methods have been adopted by TigerVNC and libvncserver, and TurboVNC is also compatible with any other TightVNC derivative. TurboVNC forked from TightVNC in 2004 and still covers all of the TightVNC 1.3.x features, but TurboVNC contains numerous feature enhancements and bug fixes relative to TightVNC, and it compresses 3D and video workloads much better than TightVNC while using generally only 5-20% of the CPU time of the latter. Using non-default settings, TurboVNC can also be made to compress 2D workloads as "tightly" as TightVNC. -

The toolkit glpk supports methods for mixed integer linear programming (MILP). These methods solve Capital Budgeting Problems (CBP). Unfortunately, glpk does not support any multithreading and there is no feature to distribute problems via network connections. Today, this is a pitiable sight, because modern computer systems are coupled by networks and support multi threading. We create a distributed system with Apache thrift and the C-API of glpk. Now, it is possible to use as many cores in a network as you want. With a focus on the MILP methods we implement a load balancing and speed up the solving process in a multiplicative way. Sometimes we have super-linear speedup with a small set of hardware. With a splitting of problems, parallel computing and distributing the actual best solution to all running processes we solve CBP much faster than a sequential processing can do. -

This application is intended to provide an overview of a site's own authoritative named (DNS) server's "zone" files. Note that it does NOT create or modify any files - so don't expect to use this application to "set up" a DNS server. There are three parts to the DNSzoneView document: a) brief numerical summary of zone RR counts b) scatter plot of zone files relative to number of RR records and last-modified date-time of a zone file c) a listing of configured "local" zone files and the ability to view a read-only copy of their data. Note that appropriate authorization is required to access the requisite files. Also, this application does not "discover" files that are used - they must be configured in advance. -
