    "Limited Compared to Others"

    Posted 2022-12-13

Pros: Forms is very simple to use, and does make it fairly easy to jump right in. It can be integrated into other Microsoft products, and has the ability to do some very nice things on the backend with Power Automate.

Cons: It is incredibly limited in what it is able to do compared to its competitors. If you need a very straight forward survey or form, this is the product. If you need more capabilities and logic to make it a seamless survey, this is not the one.

Overall: It is easy to learn and if you need it for simple forms, this is a fine product. However, I need something with more capabilities so this is not my go to software.

"Straightforward, Easy to Use Form System for Beginners"

    Posted 2022-10-21

Pros: I appreciate that Microsoft Forms is straightforward and easy to use, even for beginners of creating online forms. There are just enough customization options for creating various types of questions and input fields, yet there are not so many customization features to be confusing or overwhelming for a beginner. I also really like that it is easy to share the form for collaboration with multiple users; this makes it easy for a more technical person to set up the form while still allowing others to access the results in real-time or make adjustments as needed.

Cons: Since I am not a beginner of creating online forms, I would strongly prefer a form service to have a wide variety of customization features to be able to change everything from the font color and size to the arrangement of the content on the page. This would help companies and individuals be able to better brand the survey or form to be consistent with their design norms. I would also love to see more options for displaying results. The simplicity of the "Open in Excel" feature is a double-edged sword. It's easy to use, but it's limiting for presentation purposes.

Overall: Overall, I'm pleased with using Microsoft Forms as part of our company's Microsoft 365 suite. It is simple to use, easy to set up even for beginners, and it has all of the basic tools needed to serve its purpose. I would like to see more design and presentation customization features going forward for those of us who want more control over how the form looks as well as integration with various presentation options. Perhaps Microsoft could consider how to export results to PowerPoint. I recommend this software to users who need a basic online form that is easy to use and with which it is easy to collaborate.
