Open Source C# Compilers

ILSpy is the open-source .NET assembly browser and decompiler. Visual Studio 2022 ships with decompilation support for F12 enabled by default (using our engine v7.1). In Visual Studio 2019, you have to manually enable F12 support. Go to Tools / Options / Text Editor / C# / Advanced and check Enable navigation to decompiled source. C# for Visual Studio Code ships with decompilation support as well. To enable, activate the setting "Enable Decompilation Support. ILSpy is distributed under the MIT License. Please see the About doc for details, as well as third-party notices for included open-source libraries. Visual Studio 16.3 and later include a version of the .NET (Core) SDK that is managed by the Visual Studio installer - once you update, it may get upgraded too. Please note that ILSpy is only compatible with the .NET 6.0 SDK and Visual Studio will refuse to load some projects in the solution.

IKVM.NET is a JVM for the Microsoft .NET Framework and Mono. It can both dynamically run Java classes and can be used to convert Java jars into .NET assemblies. It also includes a port of the OpenJDK class libraries to .NET.

Roslyn provides rich, code analysis APIs to open source C# and Visual Basic compilers. This enables you to access a wealth of information about your code from compilers, which you can then use for code-related tasks in your tools and applications. Roslyn dramatically lowers the barrier to entry for creating code-focused tools and applications, creating many opportunities for innovation.

Reko (Swedish: "decent, obliging") is a decompiler for machine code binaries. This project is freely available under the GNU General Public License. The project consists of front ends, core decompiler engine, and back ends to help it achieve its goals. A command line, a Windows GUI, and a ASP.NET front end exist at the time of writing. The decompiler engine receives inputs from the front ends in the form of either individual executable files or decompiler project files. Reko project files contain additional information about a binary file, helpful to the decompilation process or for formatting the output. The decompiler engine then proceeds to analyze the input binary. Reko has the ambition of supporting decompilation of various processor architectures and executable file formats with minimal user intervention. For a complete list, see the supported binaries page.

SMC takes a state machine stored in a .sm file and generates a State pattern in 14 programming languages. Includes: default transitions, transition args, transition guards, push/pop transitions and Entry/Exit actions. See User Manual for more info.

The Roslyn folder contains (modified) source from Roslyn The XSharp folder contains our own source for the compiler, documentation and other components. For the build process of the compiler we create our own "specialized" version of the CSharp Compiler. The source for this compiler and codeanalysis.dll is in the Tools folder. This compiler will translate some of the Roslyn Namespaces from CSharp into XSharp to prevent name conflicts when assemblies of both origins are in memory at the same time. Make sure you have VS 2019 or 2017 installed. The preferred edition is Enterprise. Make sure you have Java JDK on your machine and that you have the Java binaries folder in your Path. If you do not have Vs 2019 Enterprise you can set 2 environment variables to the VS version and edition you have installed.

This is a cross-platform version of ILSpy built with Avalonia. Search for types/methods/properties (substring). Hyperlink-based type/method/property navigation. Extensible via MEF Extensibility (Check out TestPlugin folder). Note: This is not compatible with ILSpy Plugins. Grab artifacts from the latest master CI build. This includes Linux, Mac and Windows.

Liogo is a Logo Compiler for .NET. Liogo compile Logo files to .NET IL EXE or DLL. So, Liogo result could be launched directly on Windows and, via Mono runtime, on Linux. Last, with Liogo you can mix Logo code with C#/VB.NET code.

Cmajor is an experimental programming language strongly influenced by C++ and C#. It is semantically closer to C++ than C# and syntactically closer to C# than C++.

Mercury is a modern logic/functional programming language. The Mercury system includes a compiler, debugger, libraries, sample code, profilers, etc. Mercury is designed to be the successor of logic programming languages such as Prolog.

Skila is an experimental language and compiler. It is written in C# so some .Net environment is required (like Mono) and NLT binaries (see the link below). This is not a proper release, this package is more a BACKUP of Skila. Until the first real user there will be no logs, noticies, and so on. Before you faint -- yes, the code is a mess, yes there are a lot of bugs, but there is improvement almost every day so for me this endeavour still looks promising. This is a LISP implementation for .NET, with leanings towards Scheme. It is a from-scratch reimplementation of a previous language, built upon the dynscript-net project. It currently powers about 60 production websites, so it's not completely useless.

This is a scripting language for the .NET platform, similar to Python. Previously, it had a nice IDE and could run Python code unchanged. This is a from-scratch reimplementation using the dynscript-net project. I hope to reimplement all the old features.

AppM Build Automaiton is an open source and automated software application that is used to construct and build projects on different operating systems and using different development environments. General principles of implementation: -Each project must have a Build Project File, containing the necessary information on the construction of the project. For example, a unique name of the project, dependence on other projects and libraries, methods of construction, etc. Thus, the entire repository should be marked by the project description files to provide unambiguous information on the projects and their dependencies. - AppM Build Automaiton must be able to perform different actions (project construction, external applications launch, file copying, etc.) which are needed to build a -product. - All operations with projects should be carried out on the basis of information that build tool derives from the project description files.

Arkadios is an open source project (under GPL / LGPL) that tries to create a largely Delphi compatible managed compiler for the Mono / .NET platform.
