fluent_ui brings Microsoft’s Fluent Design System to Flutter, providing a comprehensive set of widgets that match the look and feel of Windows apps. It includes navigation patterns such as NavigationView, along with inputs, dialogs, menus, toolbars, and status elements crafted to Fluent’s layout and interaction guidelines. The package pays close attention to theming, typography, and control states, so hover, focus, pressed, and disabled behaviors feel native on desktop. It supports high-DPI rendering and keyboard navigation, which are essential for accessibility and productivity scenarios. Because it’s built in Flutter, developers can target Windows while keeping the door open to other platforms using similar component structures. The library is organized to be both drop-in for simple screens and extensible for custom controls or branded variations. With fluent_ui, teams can produce Windows-polished interfaces without rebuilding basic components from scratch.

Use FlexColorScheme to make beautiful Flutter Material Design themes. Apply optional surface blends, and use Material-3 style seeded color schemes. The returned themes are standard ThemeData objects, but very sophisticated ones. They are based on the same idea as Flutter's ThemeData.from(ColorScheme) and ThemeData(colorSchemeSeed) themes, but with many additional features. Choose from numerous pre-made designs or make your own. You can also use optional component sub theming, that are quick and easy to configure. When you theme a Flutter application correctly, all built-in widgets use the colors of the ColorScheme in your theme. At least in theory, and it is almost so if you defined your ThemeData by using the ThemeData.from factory, but it misses a few details. This applies in particular when you use Material-2 design in Flutter, which is the default. When you opt in on using Material-3, the color results and styles are much more consistent by default.

flutter_vignettes is a set of polished experimental projects that showcase creative uses of Flutter’s capabilities. Each vignette is a self-contained demo focusing on visuals, animations, or interactions, often pushing the boundaries of what Flutter’s rendering engine can achieve. Examples include custom UI widgets, fluid animations, and interactive design concepts. The project is intended to inspire developers and demonstrate Flutter’s potential for building expressive, high-quality experiences. It’s not only a code resource but also a design showcase, blending engineering and artistry. By presenting small, focused experiments, flutter_vignettes encourages experimentation and learning while illustrating Flutter’s strengths in rapid UI prototyping.
