Open Source Java Documentation Software for Mac

The DITA Open Toolkit is an implementation of the OASIS DITA XML Specification. The Toolkit transforms DITA content into many deliverable formats. The primary goal of this project is to simplify the generation of up-to-date RESTful API documentation by combining documentation that’s been hand-written with auto-generated API documentation produced by Swagger. The result is intended to be an up-to-date, easy-to-read, on- and offline user guide, comparable to GitHub’s API documentation. The output of Swagger2Markup can be used as an alternative to swagger-UI and can be served as static content. Swagger2Markup converts a Swagger JSON or YAML file into several AsciiDoc or GitHub Flavored Markdown documents which can be combined with hand-written documentation. The Swagger source file can be located locally or remotely via HTTP. Swagger2Markup supports the Swagger 1.2 and 2.0 specifications. Internally it uses the official swagger-parser and my markup-document-builder. You can use Swagger2Markup to convert your contract-first Swagger YAML file into a human-readable format.

This Java application serves to transform W3C XML Schema instances into interactive diagrams in SVG format. The diagram represents structure of XML files and provides information about individual items – elements and attributes.

Texlipse is a plugin that adds Latex editing support for the popular Eclipse Java IDE. Key features include: syntax highlight, command completion, bibliography completion, outline navigation and automatic building.

DEP4E integrates DocBook XML and DocBook XSL into Eclipse IDE to create, edit and process DocBook projects.

The DITA Open Platform is a free, open-source project which goal is to provide an enterprise platform for the edition, management and processing of DITA documents.

XHTML Doclet is a standards-compliant alternative to the Javadoc standard HTML doclet. It revises the document structure to exclude outdated tags and inline styles, creates valid XHTML markup, and provides better hooks for more flexible CSS manipulation.

XmlDoclet is a JavaDoc doclet that outputs the source code structure of the packages, classes etc. in XML format. Later, the XML data may easily be processed by standard tools such as XSLT to produce HTML, PDF, dot graphs etc. Technically, this is done by wrapping the class and interfaces of the com.sun.javadoc packages into JAXB annotated classes, which allows for an easy serialization.

java2web is a java to html source code converter which a wide array of features, including CSS customization, outline generation, automatic javadoc liking, selective highlighting and a lot more.

Bibliography converter. Converts BibTeX bibliographies to Docbook 5.0 bibliography documents. Can be used as a command-line tool, Ant task or as library in other applications.

BibTeXlipse is an Eclipse plugin for managing and analyse bibliography databases. Mainly for BibTeX databases, but will import and export many other bibliographic formats. It's currently in planning phase.
